After being left for dead, I was given a fresh start by my knight in shining armor.
My protector.
I never had a family before they took me in.
But I don’t know how to stay or trust.
I always had a bag packed and ready just in case I needed to escape again.
Like they say, old habits die hard.
Being in the shadows is lonely, but lonely is safe.
Quinn
I was the quiet one, the one who stood in the back and watched things unfold. The cowboy who only cared about his horses instead of the glory.
Until I found her fighting for her life. Something inside me shifted, and I couldn’t stop it.
I couldn’t stop protecting her.
I fell in love with her with one look because she was my soul mate.
Even though I knew I couldn't make her stay

"The romance, the passion and the emotions definitely tugged at my heart strings. Their path isn't easy and some secrets will come back to haunt them. Southern Heat can be read a stand-alone and it's an excellent MUST read!!"
Yolanda McGee, Veronica's Reading Vault
"Southern Heat is a top unputdownable, emotional read of 2021.
A few words and your completely enrapt inside the Southern world, an elegantly woven blend of soul stirring chemistry, emotionally gripping, through tragedy and heartbreak there's healing, witty banter to shine light amidst the dark, and a family that is the essence of unconditional love making you feel like part of the family every time you visit this world."
Melissa, Book Boyfriend and Husband Make Three
"I can't express not only my pure love for this novel, but how much I highly recommend it. If there were a one hundred star that I could give, that's what I'd give, because this novel is the complete package. You will feel every emotion, every high, every low and all that falls in between. Trust me I know......Willow and Quinn....My heart will always be with you both.
5 stars that will stay with me always."
Gayle, Goodreads Reviewer
"I think my heart is still in Quinn and Willow's story. Their tale is devastatingly beautiful, but filled with a tragedy I don't think most could survive. Ms. Madison hit it out of the park with Willow's character. Make sure the have lots of tissues handy."
Stephanie Crews, Goodreads Reviewer
"Oh. My. Goodness. This is truly a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read!! Beautifully broken and brilliantly told, Southern Heat blew me away! Moving ... magical ... and oh so meaningful. This story ... it's EVERYTHING! It's heartbreak and healing. It's the shattering of the soul and the strength to soar. A story of hope, heartbreak, heroism, and second chances at life and love, this book is smartly and soulfully written."

Quinn and Willow
Reader beware, this book is going to tear you apart and slowly put you back together again.
Much like Willow herself.
Due to Willow’s physical and mental condition, theirs is a slow burn story. The first part of the book, takes place while she is recovering in the hospital.
There is so much going on in this story. Willow’s story is horrific and heartbreaking. She has lived more nightmares than most people can even imagine.
This book picks up right where the previous book, Southern Heart, leaves off. (It’s not necessary to read that book before starting this one) While on a mission to rescue his cousin, Quinn finds one more person hidden in the old cabin.
From the moment he finds Willow, something draws him to her. He’s determined no one will ever harm her again. His protective instincts kick in and he never leaves her side.
Willow has never known anyone like Quinn. Growing up the way she did, you don’t ever show your weaknesses, you never let anyone know you like, or need something, it will always be used against you. She’s been beaten, mentally abused, locked up, had food and water withheld from her, she trusts no one. But for some unexplained reason, Quinn makes her feel safe.
I loved Quinn. He was much like his father Casey. (Southern Comfort) Strong, confident, capable of great rage, but also great comfort and uber protective of those he loves. He was so gentle and patient with Willow.
Being in Willow’s head was like being the rope in a tug-of-war. Her instincts are pulling her to run. But her heart is pulling her to trust Quinn and his family and stay.
There is no huge threat that they have to overcome, like in some of the earlier books. Willows worst enemy is herself.
Their story is all about learning to trust, to open yourself up and let others inside your protective bubble. To heal.
I loved jumping back in with this ever growing family.
We get both characters points of view.
There is no cheating.
Quinn and Willow’s story does completely play out, we get a glimpse of their HEA in the epilogues.
There is a tiny cliffhanger that sets up the next book. I can’t wait to see where we go next.
Quinn has always been his own man. A cowboy whose only true love is his horses, and his barns where he helps others through Equine Therapy. When he works alongside his family to save his cousin Chelsea, he discovers a woman he must save. The draw he feels towards her is like nothing he has ever experienced and no matter what anyone tells him, he is determined to remain by her side and see her overcome her injuries.
Willow has grown up in a real life nightmare. The horrors other only read about in books or newspapers are her reality. Choices she makes lead to one last horrific incident of abuse, one that may just take her life. In and out of consciousness, Willow isn’t sure how safe she really is and whether or not survival is going to be possible for her.
As Willow fights for her life and attempts to recover from not only her physical injuries, but her emotional ones as well, Quinn is by her side, protecting her and giving her what she needs to find her way.
Readers will feel utter despair at the abuse Willow has suffered while experiencing hope while witnessing Quinn’s protective nature. This couple has a difficult journey but is destined to be exactly what the other needs.
This book will very much bring out all the emotions in you. Fear, anxiety, horror, sadness, passion, love and happiness. Luckily it is a HEA because I am not sure I would have been able to handle this. The hero is Quinn and the heroine is Willow which in Book 5 she is part of that so to say. She is related (not by blood) to Mayson from Book 5, when you read it, you will understand better I don’t want to get into the gruesome details. These two start of not knowing each other even one ounce. Quinn has this pull towards Willow when they find her and he is the quiet, smart pulled-back one but boy HE STOOD BY HER SIDE the whole time. It was really sweet and admiring about Quinn. Willow, after 8 years of hell is not sure what to think of Quinn and his family. She has never experienced that and the trauma she went through, she will always have one foot out the door. And that’s kind of what this is based off of, Quinn trying to understand what he feels for Willow and Willow thinking that it’s in Quinn’s nature to take care of people because of his profession. These two have a long road ahead and it’s painfully beautiful. Absolutely recommend reading this whole series in a row! It is a very SLOW BURN and due to circumstances it’s understandable but when Willow open’s up, Quinn really shines!

Willow didn’t have a childhood. Or much of a life. She was abused by her mother and then by the devil incarnate. She was beaten regularly but this time Willow thought she wouldn’t survive. Until her knight in shining armor arrived.
Quinn had an ideal childhood. He was loved and cherished as a child should be. He’s a gentleman, if a bit rough around the edges. When he finds a woman in the most despicable of conditions he knew he as to save her. But he had no idea she would save him in the end.
This is a book of discovery, accepting help, love and a HEA.
