This is all about "comfort food" and does it well. Sometimes when I read cookbooks, I don't make the recipes - not so with this book!

I have tried about 10 so far, with perfect results. The stories and pictures are terrific, and I admit to being a CMT fan, so that makes the book all the more special.

The Amazon price was BETTER than a well known Television Shopping Network, and I was happy to get the book on the day of publication, with Amazon Prime.

Southern Living tends to have the best cookbooks ( in my opinion ) and this one is a great addition to an already diverse library.

Nothing here is "hard" to make, but it is all GOOD.

Well worth consideration as a gift for those "hard to buy for". They will love it, and you will too!

This cookbook isn't just a great recipe book. It's a great book to read about some of Country Music's stars.
I did try the Berry Cobbler and it was delicious. I am going to try it with other fruits as well. I know I'll enjoy this book for a long time. Great work on presentation and recipes.

I've been a cookbook collector since I was very small. Being from the south you grow up in the kitchen in a way.

I love the photos and the info on the artists is a nice added bonus. Some I would've left out because either they're unknowns or they were one hit wonders.

Amy Grant's pot roast must be awesome because it's been featured several times in several magazines and cook books (one of which I have already) and perhaps a different recipe could've been put in it's place.

Made the no bake cookies which half turned out because it was missing the one ingredient that holds no bake cookies together (peanut butter) I understand it was made in mind for those with tree nut allergies but if you make it look up the recipe online and ad peanut butter to it so your not ending up with alot of crumbles. It was great on ice cream though which is a great use for that. Also I'd use almond milk instead of soy since soy isn't good for you.

Honey chicken was pretty good just hold the sauce and find something else. Maybe it's because I'm just not a fan of soy sauce....

There are several in there I cannot wait to make and the great thing I like is it's not expensive. All the recipes seem to be reasonable in price for the ingretients needed.

Yes I would recommend this to a friend.

It's ok. I wonder how well a cookbook I wrote would sell if I gave it a fancy name--that is if I ever felt like writing one. :) Nothing new in this other than county, music and Southern Living on the cover. Oh well. I fell for it. Not worth returning.

I expected it be filled with old southern recipes, instead it had blogs of country singers and a recipe. I hadn't even heard of most of these singers. Had mostly chili recipes, nothing I really wanted to cook up. I lived in North Carolina for 18 months and loved their food. I saw nothing like those dishes in the book. I was sorry I bought it.

My husband brought a newspaper home with a pork chop recipe in it that he wanted me to make for him. I decided to just order the cookbook instead and tossed the newspaper into the recycle bin. When I went to make the pork chops, I could not find the recipe in the book. There was no table of contents for the recipes. I'd have to look through the entire book to find it. I'm not even sure if it's in there. I made the pork chops according to my memory of the recipe. Don't know how close I was since I couldn't find the recipe. I thought it was great, my husband complained. I'm not really a fan of people in country music so half of the book was wasted on me. I do like good food however. Since most country music folks come from the south, and I know that southern cooking is fabulous, I figured it was worth buying but I wouldn't recommend it unless you like to read about the "stars". I don't have time to do that kind of reading. I read for education, not entertainment.

Nice recipes and stories sharing the history of the artists and their preferred dishes!! Haven't cooked from it yet, but I have read quite a few of the stories!! Recipes seem easy enough and have accompanying pictures!
