--in the beginning of the book it has pages and pages of recipes that are 'make 2 meals in one'. You make the main course and use it for 2 separate meals. Each entree has it's own picture, of course. For example: Recipe one has easy bbq chicken, and then recipe 2 uses that same chicken to make a hearty Brunswick stew. How cool is that?? Most people making double meals to freeze just make the same meal TWICE...not in this book, you get to make a separate meal to freeze!
--Gives tons of tips for how to freeze things properly: everything from cookies, pizza dough, fruits, veggies, dips, sauces, cakes, to main courses and casseroles.
--Did I mention EACH recipe comes with a full page and a PICTURE?
--Gives detail instructions on thawing and re-heating, as well as, how to package up things in the freezer and what type of storage to use.
Most of these recipes are very easy to follow and family friendly. These are not 'high-end gourmet' meals. If you are looking for that, this is probably not going to knock your socks off. But if you are looking for ways to make healthy, hearty, and time saving meals for the family, you're probably going to love this book as much as I do. There are plenty of savory recipes and a good array of sweet recipes to be found. You will also find cookbook sections dealing with how long to freeze food, express cooking and crowd size recipes.
Lovely photos grace the pages illustrating the different prepared recipes.
Overall, this is a lovely cookbook filled with many tasty recipes all waiting to be made-ahead.
