The only reason I gave this album 4 stars was because there is only a little bit of nice swinging songs with the trio. The other songs without drummer Nick Ceroli are slow and boring, even if they are a tribute to the great Nick Ceroli. Mundell Lowe was curtainly overlooked, but with sessions like these, it's hard to see why. A great track is St. Thomas. Nick Ceroli delivers a nice drum solo. It is hard to wonder why Mundell Lowe, who had only played with him once, gave Ceroli a tribute album and Herb Alpert, his long time cohort in the Tijuana Brass did not!
