I used to love Soylent, and drank it almost everyday which seemed like the goal of their marketing campaign. But after I finished a few 12 packs, i began to feel strange and i got really bad headaches whenever i would drink any.
I noticed they use 'sucralose' for the sweetner which is known by many scientific studies to cause issues like headaches, nausea, etc...
Here's an excerpt from one of many articles regarding the results of those scientific studies:
"Research reveals your body does indeed metabolize sucralose and that it accumulates in your fat cells. Two new metabolites have also been identified. As these findings were not part of the original regulatory decision process for sucralose, researchers are calling for a review of its safety and regulatory status.
Sucralose causes definite changes in the liver of treated rats, suggesting toxic effects. According to the researchers, sucralose should be used with caution to avoid liver damage.
Previous research found sucralose reduces gut bacteria by 50 percent, increases the intestinal pH level and causes biochemical distortions. This was again confirmed in 2018, when all currently approved artificial sweeteners were found to cause DNA damage in, and interfere with, the normal and healthy activity of gut bacteria.
Consuming artificial sweeteners such as sucralose, aspartame, saccharin, neotame, advantame and/or acesulfame potassium-k can impair your appetite regulation and cause weight gain"
Not to mention, the amount of soy products in Soylent is insane....and Soy products are known to be estrogenic which basically means that some soy-based compounds emulate estrogen in the human body, leading to very drastic health effects such as men growing breasts or losing sterility...
It might taste kinda good, and they might spend a lot of money on marketing to suppress this information, but please research and understand what you consume because drinking artificial sweetners and hormones is not a healthy way to live.

Hi guys - this is going to be a longer review so bear with me. I am a college student who came into college at 215 pounds and began gaining weight freshman year. My weight peaked at 255 pounds during January of 2019 (the winter break of my sophomore year). When I went over 250 on the scale, I knew I needed to change something. The problem was, I was an extremely busy student, had a social life, and was going through job recruiting at the same time. My eating habits were horrible - I wouldn't walk to the dining hall and would buy snacks from the convenience store or order food every night. This led to a horrible relationship with food where I was constantly binge eating, eating only once per day, and only eating carbs and sugar. I felt awful, had no energy, and no confidence. I couldn't find a diet that I could fit into my schedule and stick with - tracking calories at a dining hall was way too much commitment for me. While doing research, I stumbled upon a YouTube video of someone who claimed that Soylent changed their life, so I ordered a box on Amazon.Every day I would drink 4 bottles of Soylent. That's 1600 calories. No meal planning, no walking to the dinning hall, no cooking, no tracking my meals, no hassle. That's where Soylent really shines. It allows you to portion your calories and get the nutrients you need without the hassle of traditional meal plans. I would do this throughout the week and then eat and drink how I wanted to on the weekends. Soylent really changed my relationship with food, by making me understand that my body only needed a certain amount of calories each day. During the spring of 2019, I lost 20 pounds and I really gained the knowledge and confidence that I was able to lose weight and control my eating. In the summer of 2019, I drank Soylent for half my meals and lost an additional 15 pounds. Eventually I transitioned to full solid meals again, equipped with the ability to control my eating and understanding of what my body needed.Since then (it's been almost a year and a half), I have lost over 60 pounds! I weighed 193 earlier this week. While Soylent wasn't the only cause of this, the product let me take a step back and took the stress out of dieting. When I started to see that I could lose weight and started eating solid food again, I was able to control myself a lot better and continue on my weight loss journey.People may laugh at you when you tell them you're on a liquid diet, but who cares. Soylent really changed my life and redefined my relationship with food. It's cheap - compared to normal meals I was spending an equivalent amount of money on soylent. Also - IT TASTES GOOD. You can't force yourself to drink this if it tasted bad. I actually really enjoyed every flavor I tried, and would buy all 3 main flavors (vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry) and the chai coffee ones so that I would have a selection depending on the mood I was in. I think the stuff actually tastes really good - trust me, I've had plenty of protein shakes in my life and this actually tastes like a drink you want to drink.
