1.0 out of 5 starsToo expensive

I love Soylent Powder. I have a box of 14 days of food sitting in my kitchen right now. That's in the pouches though, the tub is just not a good deal.
For strangers to this world, Soylent Powder tastes to me like milk that's been blended with some fiber and a hint of banana, making a slightly gritty and thin shake. It's really pretty tasty, and takes well to any flavorings you want to add. Definitely something you can eat for multiple days without getting tired of it. And yes, I've lived on Soylent for some time (although I'm a tall guy requiring over 2,000kCal, so I eat "normal" food in addition to Soylent).
What you get- 2.4 days worth of food. The Tub has 24 "servings" at 200 calories each, meaning the average adult needs 10 scoops per day. Soylent was invented as a total food replacement so you are supposed to live on Soylent for all your meals. With only 2.4 days in the tub, I'm just puzzled. Are you only expecting to live 2.4 more days? They should have rounded it to a whole day, even if they want people to mix it into their normal shakes.
What you don't get- If you order the pouched version of this product through Soylent's website, they include a free pitcher with your first order which allows you to prep a whole day of Soylent in one go. You don't get that with the tub, just a scoop like any tub of protein powder.
What you pay for- Soylent Tub costs almost twice as much as the pouches, which doesn't make any sense. In a bulk package like this, it should cost less. What happened?
Overall- It's the same contents as the pouch, for twice the price, and in an odd increment that doesn't divide evenly. This doesn't appeal to Soylent's fan base. I also don't expect it to take off with the nutrition crowd, because it contains more fat and sugar than most people would like to have in their daily protein shake. When I'm doing shakes, I prefer to have a protein shake in the morning so that it will balance out against the fats and carbs I eat during the day. This might make sense for people who just want to test the waters of meal replacement shakes, as one Tub is less commitment than the beginner subscription to Soylent Powder in pouches (which is 7 days of food, instead of the Tub's 2.4). But that's the only audience I can recommend it for, and then I'd encourage them to switch immediately to the more cost-efficient pouches.
