Every page of this delightful new book by Ceri poses a puzzle, a question or engages the redder in a game and as such it is a learning adventure as well as a fun little story children will enjoy, keeping up with older children and adult obsessions with science fiction and space odysseys.
The little story is well condensed by Ceri – ‘Minkie Monster has a problem. He’s been invited to a birthday party, but he can’t seem to remember whose. To top it all off, his best friend, Bob, is hiding – again. Now, Minkie has to go on the journey of his young lifetime to the planet Venus to find answers. Along the way, he’ll have to solve problems and follow the clues.’
Numbers become math problems/games, rhymes enter to keep the story light, space questions and investigations, word puzzles – it is all a fun experience to be shared between child and parent or older children. Ceri Clark has provided a fine new series of ideas to blend fun and learning with reading and adventure stories. Grady Harp, September 16

Of course, my mathematical tendencies wanted extra clues for the simple numbers games. I wished the numbered spaceships had port holes to match, etc. But this book includes all the other favorite puzzles from childhood too—tracing lines to destinations, joining the dots to make letters and numbers, pattern matching and more. Space Puzzles is short, bright-colored and fun, with the added attraction of a snakes and ladders game, and downloadable content to use over and again.

It begins with Minkie Monster introducing himself. He is looking for his friend, Bob, who hides in every page. They have been invited to a party, and he must find Bob. It is very much like Where's Waldo.
What I love about this book is there are different activities that my daughter can do, and not get bored easily. There is counting, tracing numbers, following trails, coloring, word searches, spot the difference, etc.
My daughter has had me read her this book several times now. She enjoys looking at the pictures, and I am pleased she enjoys reading. I feel this is a great book for the younger kids. It definitely keeps them occupied.
