When I tried them on they were the perfect length for me at 5'6" where they were touching the ground in shoes (the way I like it). Then I washed a pair (which I also want to return but I washed them), and they shrunk to that awkward length at your ankles where I can't wear them outside.
The inseam was 30.5" and after I washed them (and wore them to try and stretch/relax them) they were 29".
They are great except for the length. Very comfy and stretchy.
Picture: Left is unwashed, right is washed.
The pants fit nice in snug around the butt and thighs. I normally wear a size 1, and the small fits great. I bought the grey ones. They are nice and dark but not too dark. The pants have a lot of stretch in them. They rise a bit higher than I like to wear my pants, but I fold them over if they start to bother me.
These are very soft and comfortable to wear. I totally recommend them to anyone. They are not too thin wear you can see through them, but not thick like a sweater. Hope this helps!
After I found myself pregnant with my first child, I ordered 2 more pair because I knew I'd want something comfortable to wear while my body was undergoing all the changes. Then, during the 7th, 8th, and 9th month of my pregnancy, when the belly bump drops and things start to get quite uncomfortable, these yoga pants SAVED MY LIFE! I literally wore them EVERY SINGLE DAY, but I made a new outfit of it by pairing them with cute Roxy sandals, a solid v-neck maternity top, and a white cami underneath to smooth things out. The yoga pant material was thin enough that I didn't get hot, even in the hundred degree heat of June, yet thick enough that it was flattering to my curves, despite my 50 pound baby weight gain. I currently own 6 pairs of these yoga pants in varying sizes, and they've all been SOOOOOO fantastic that I've even ordered and had them shipped to friends and family via Amazon.com.
As for the sizing, when I wore a size 6-7 jeans pre-pregnancy I fit into the Medium yoga pants. When I wore size 8-9 jeans during early-pregnancy I wore the Large yoga pants. And during the later part of my pregnancy, and I assume for awhile after the baby is born also, I've worn the Extra Large size yoga pants mostly the entire time. These yoga pants took the guess work out of "what to wear?" everyday because they were comfortable, flattering, and paired with a different color top, I had a new outfit every time. Not to mention, they don't LOOK like gym clothes! They don't have stripes or huge obvious logos on them, so they just appear to be a casual pair of black pants, which I think are perfectly acceptable to wear out EVERYWHERE I go. Whether it's a restaurant, the grocery store, or a family function. I love them, and you will too!!
PS. Please note, this is my first Amazon product review. I felt compelled to take the time to write this because, first of all, these pants are the best thing since sliced bread, and secondly, I'm an avid online shopper and I make ALL my purchases based on other people's good reviews. So here's hoping the men of the world come across my review, discover these awesome yoga pants, and buys them for every woman they know and love!
SN: *My only advice with this pant is to not put it in the dryer because it will shrink down by one size (a couple of inches).
Fabric content is not as advertised. See my photo!!!
I was hoping these would be the same quality I got with Danskin products. Unfortunately they are thinner. Stitching seems okay, and the fabric is not horrible, but they are for warmer weather, and cannot really be worn out much in winter if you want some go-to daytime errand pants, or plan to use them for outdoor walks and such in cold weather. The deal Walmart has for the Danskin Now Dri-More Bootcut Pants, which is 2 pairs for ~$20 to $24 (depending on sales), or $10 to $12 per pair--HALF the price I paid for these Spalding pants--obviously puts these to shame. I bought these only because Danskin doesn't make bootcut in charcoal (only straight leg). The fact that the Danskin pants are heavier quality and cost half as much makes me really disappointed in what I got for the money with Spalding. These are on par with the fitness wear brand Kmart uses, Everlast, but Kmart gaves me $10 in bonus money toward my purchase, so I paid $8.99 for chracoal bootleg yoga pants from Everlast with them, and they were very comparable quality.
These also fit more tightly than the Danskin products, which is fine if you are in your 20s or younger, but not if you're trying to look like a mom. A little too sexy-fitted for the mom look; this is not to say I don't go for the attractive mom look, just not trying to have stuff so tight anymore, not appropriate with kids. Somehow the Danskin version manages to be fitted while not clinging to you like the Spalding. It is both the cut cinching in more at thigh for the Spalding, and the fact that I bought the same size in each, but the Danskin run a little bigger than the Spalding, so the Spalding are clingier cut and smaller, thus the "booty pants" look, which is not very mommish.
