Where are the real beginning books that get you up to beginner. I know some Spanish, but when I have to spend more time in the dictionary than I do reading the book it is not fun. The story about pirates and armies, cannon fire, replacement guards, I will baptize this ship, finally anchored, lifeless body, evil, surpass us, old legend, culminated, warship, just some of the words I won't use in any day to day conversation. Where are the books using say 300 of the most used Spanish words repeated in stories using dialogue that is actually found in life today? They are not to be found. After talking to many folks on the path to learning Spanish I find I'm not alone in the quest to fin d books fun to read with a little challenge and new words along the way that get repeated later in the text so one has a chance to actually get to know the new found words. Repetition is the mother of all learning. Most of the reviews state, NOT REALLY A BEGINNERS BOOK, BUT IT WAS INTERESTING! That's what you have to say if you pay for the and don't return it. Where are the real learners? Books using the most used 250-500 words in Spanish by frequency of use?? The books who deserve the title beginner. Stuff life is made of. The vocabulary that is most frequently used. If you already know Spanish, this book might appeal to you. If your a beginner, maybe a root canal.. There , I've said it. Most books are hard work and then with no repetition, then no real learning. Just tons of effort for those really trying to give it a go at a new language.
