Purchase options and add-ons
It's been said that finding the right question is as important as finding its answer. As author Jennie Lee writes, "Quality questions lead to quality answers. Questions promote deeper thought, connection, and authenticity." In Spark Change, Lee shows you how to identify your most important personal questions and explore how they might redefine the trajectory of your life.
Here, Lee guides you through 108 inspiring prompts designed to deepen your awareness of your innermost needs and initiate powerful shifts throughout your life. Whether it's examining the attitudes that hold you back or investigating your true purpose, these guided inquiries are meant to cultivate gratitude for your gifts, peace with the present moment, and resilience in the face of life's challenges.
For the last two decades, Lee has used conscious inquiry practices to encourage self-reflection in her yoga therapy practice. Inspired by the source teachings of classical yoga as well as Lee's own inner journey, these prompts delve into some of the most enduring questions of psychology, self-improvement, and the spiritual path. With Lee's piercing insight and constant guidance, Spark Change provides 108 prime opportunities to stop, ponder, and listen to the call of your most essential self.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2020I really appreciate Jennie Lee’s new book Spark Change! It makes a wonderful workbook to help anyone gain a deeper understanding of their underlying motivating forces. It can help to break longtime habits by facilitating a deeper understanding of the thoughts and beliefs that motivate our behaviors.
The Yogic Masters say that to become Self-realized and transcend this world of delusion , we must overcome the ego, the part of us that perpetuates our belief in our individuality and protects it. The ego is very subtle and persistent in its efforts to keep us ignorant of our true soul nature, and is our main obstacle to enlightenment and expansion of consciousness. Spark Change can help us with the process of introspection, or contemplative self-examination, which clarifies and defines the ego and it ‘s bundle of self-serving desires and attachments. It is pretty near impossible to overcome something you can’t see and understand, especially that which hides within you in a myriad of guises. The Masters also say that human nature is primarily selfish and this causes most of our misery. To have lasting happiness, the ego and its selfishness must be conquered. With questions like, “What am I defending?” “ In what way is my attitude holding me back?”, “What can I learn by accepting that I don’t know?”, “ How could I be more thoughtful of those around me?”, and the classic, “Who am I?”, we can begin to chip away at the layers of ego that obscure the crystal clarity of our Divine nature . Jennie Lee offers some commentary on these questions, but it is your experience of journaling or contemplating them that will bring out the hidden facets of your consciousness and inspire new thoughts and actions.
Author Jennie Lee has poured her heart and knowledge of yogic process into her books to give us practical tools to further our journey toward higher consciousness. The worth of this book could be immeasurable!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2022Jennie Lee, in her book Spark Change, asks thought-provoking and soul-searching questions that will lead you to your innermost human self, your Spiritual Self, and sets you on the path to transformation so you can luve your most-desired life. No matter your age
, your family history, your religious background, education or career path, Lee's pithy readings before each question provide some insight and guidance for your own self-examination.
One of my lifelong and dearest Sister-Friends and I decided to work through Spark Change together. We read the pre-question section, discuss it a bit, and then think about the question for two days or longer before we each write a personal response/answer. Having known each other for over sixty years gives us the advantage of using what we know about each other to help.with feedback, etc. It also keeps us accountable and on track.
Whether you decide to undertake this book on your own, or with a friend or beloved partner or spouse, this journey to your own identity and Spiritual Self will lead you to transforming who you are to who you want to be and allow you to live your most-desired Life.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2020I think of this as a field guide for a better life. Broken up into 12 parts of core subjects such as values, beliefs, willingness, lessons, acceptance, love, etc. followed by pertinent questions highlighting and expounding on matters concerning reaching those core values. It is not necessarily a narrative book you read in a sequential manner but a book you consult to help you move past spiritual roadblocks you encounter. I have found it helpful in giving me pathways to rethink and recenter my thoughts when confronting the need for change and to get me in a better place mentally. I routinely purchase Jennie Lee’s books for my many of my friends. Like Ms. Lee’s other 2 books “Spark Change” is straightforward, direct, eminently readable and heartfelt while graciously devoid of the sort of overheated emotion that these books can sometimes have.
BTW, she does great posts on her Instagram feed - @jennielee_author
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2020I pre-ordered this book and received it back in September. I was excited when it arrived, but somehow I just couldn't start reading it. The time just wasn't right. And it kept on not being the right time until today! Last night I had a dream with many symbols from my past, including an ex who wanted to murder me (only in the dream!). What saved me was my intuition of what was about to happen. I felt that the dream was leading me away from past and unhealthy ways of seeing myself and 'driving' my life. So today I decided I would open this beautiful book to a random page to see what the author wanted to share with me. I opened to question 39: "What part of my spirit do I need to call back?" The description that followed exactly matched my understanding of my dream! I will be working with this question this week to see what insights and shifts emerge.
The book is a powerful tool that is aligned with our highest needs and aspirations.
Sounds True did a beautiful job with the format and design. I love the size and feel of the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2020This book is pure gold. It cuts straight to the chase in the most effective way possible: by posing questions. 108 to be exact. As a high school teacher and yoga teacher, I have found that the best way to help someone learn is for them to think critically about something specific. The best way to facilitate that? Asking questions. This book builds on that idea by posing 108 questions (divided by topic) that any person can ask themselves in order to get a full inventory of their life and determine how to proceed in a way that is most aligned and nourishing. Thanks for this resource, Jennie Lee.

C. StilesReviewed in Canada on October 5, 20205.0 out of 5 stars Insightful and impactful personal growth resource
This book is a little gem full of insightful questions to dive deeply into oneself. Right after I got the book I sat down with my journal, prayed and asked to be led to the right question for a particular situation I was facing. I found the question I needed and reflected on it until some answers came. I found insight into the way I think about things, and how to challenge those thoughts to reach for more helpful thoughts. This was my particular process, but the book is helpful even if you enjoy gentle self-reflection and empowering concepts. I even bought a second book to give as a christmas gift.
