Asher, the sweet caring one. I did love him throughout the full series, which is why I'm so torn. I was really getting upset toward the end. The mother for one -- like how the hell can she judge Cameron after what she did?!? I wanted to slap her, far worse than any aggravation against Ember. It was really difficult to tolerate her, especially considering what side she was supposed to be on. Still, I don't know. Ugh. I do love the ending, but then, I think my heart is just too heavy for Cameron to know. Overall, 4.5 for me. <<< I never really understood that crap; the .5 in rating, and I never do them, except now, because as much as I loved it, one sad lovable guy got ripped to pieces even in becomes probably the least evil of them all.
Spark X is actually a fast-paced read with some pretty intense moments and an almost superb ending. We have read Ember's struggles and mishaps and are able to see where they have taken her. I guess there was just the one angle of the story I didn't feel necessary.
I know JS was trying to make this a love triangle so we could get the full depth of the battle between good and evil, but I never felt dissuaded on which side Ember would choose. The chemistry between Asher and Ember was always there. With Cameron, not so much. It was obvious he wanted her, but in no way did I ever feel any need or want for him from Ember.
This series has a wonderful plot and I absolutely love the characters. Overall I enjoyed it , but I did still have some holes I wanted to be filled. Maybe she is just leaving it open for a spin off.
I have to say it was a good story and I had planned to give it 4 stars but now that a couple hours have past since I read it-- I just cannot get over how I feel about Cameron's ending. I feel like there should be more! I mean - spin off or something come on lol-- he turned out to be one of the deepest characters and I feel like he got completely burned. I can't fault the author for what the story was in their head-- it's pretty clear cut but yes. Cameron deserves a spin off.
Cameron puts a wrench in their relationship. However, as bad as he may be…he really isn’t what he appears. If I had to choose between Asher and Cameron I would be torn. That is how Ember feels, the good side loves Asher while the bad side loves Cameron. Me personally, I pick Cameron…Yum! Cameron shows his true side throughout Spark-X and his deep feelings for Ember. I can feel the torment in him knowing she loves another. It’s on the edge of gut wrenching. I could see his face, masked, trying to hide how he feels. Ouch!
Ember and Asher delve deep trying to figure out the details of a book. They venture into some intense situations to be able to read the content of it. Parts of it ripped my heart out, but have faith this is a happily ever after.
I love this book and I truly enjoyed this series. The supernatural and unique plot twists create a tension to keep the readers intrigued. I was glued to the pages, you know when you can’t turn the page fast enough to find out what happens. That was me.
Spark-X is an adventure not to be missed, mixed with memorable characters that stand on their own. Grab it up!
