PALLAS - Button-Lock / Thumb Stud / Flipper PALLAS (PALE ES) was the Titan god of war craft, a fitting name for this folder. A beefy blade of CPM S35VN rides on a set of alpha bearings in a 6061 aerospace aluminum frame. The blade can be opened easily with the flick of the thumb stud or flipper tab. The hardware (button, thumb studs, spacers and screws) are all stainless steel. Our signature titanium arrow clip for tip up carry will hold it securely in your pocket. This knife is not an automatic opener.

The blade steel is very high grade S35VN. The blade spine is beautifully shaped and rounded. At 3.75” the blade is sized so it can handle hard jobs but small enough to be a practical everyday carry.
I really love the jimping.
Utilizing both a flipper and thumb studs, the blade rides on a caged bearings and its very smooth. This is a great ambidextrous knife.
A word of caution (advice) - similar to some other button lock knives I’ve owned, the pivot tends to work itself loose after multiple opening and closings. This is easily rectified. Remove the pivot screw (Torx), place a small dab of medium strength (blue) Loctite to the threads, and screw it back in until the blade is centered. You won’t have to make it overly tight. Leave it overnight and problem solved. Don’t overdo the application of the Loctite, use only a very small amount.
Spartan did a good job of designing a robust knife that’s also relatively thin and it’s also light weight. This definitely makes it a good EDC choice.
The aluminum scales (handle) offers good grip but it’s not so coarse that they wear on yourvhands or tear up your pockets.
The button lock is my favorite feature. It’s a very reliable locking system. Push in the button and the blade is free. This makes one handed operation a breeze (and fun).
Due to the button lock design, there is no blade detent. You can actually deploy the blade without using the flipper if you flick the knife forward with the blade down.
If you like detent this probably isn’t the knife for you. If you like a “free” blade design you’ll love it.
The pocket clip is well executed.
Anyway, this is a quality product with a well thought out design.
