Using it for hammock hanging works good. This stuff is strong with no stretch. I use descending rings to make it adjustable.

I used this line for numerous things, but primarily as a structural ridgeline for my camping hammock. I wanted something thin, light, very strong, and stretch resistant. This line fit the bill perfectly, and while expensive, has the qualities necessary for very specific duties. The line is great for "bite" knots and taut-line hitch knots.

Keep in mind that kevlar does not burn or melt, so proper whipping is necessary to prevent VERY rapid fraying.

I actually use this for my PCT style bear bag. It's slick enough to slide against rough tree bark and to pull off of my throw bag with a hard yank if hung up on branches. Finished the ends with Gorilla Glue and its held up perfectly.

This cord is perfect for 1001 different uses. Kevlar cord is unbelievably strong and durable, useful for nearly any purpose that other ropes/cords of other types can be used for.... only better. About the only reason to use something other than an appropriately sized Kevlar cord would be cost/benefit. Kevlar will almost always be better than anything else, so you just have to decide if your use is worth the premium. In my case, I am using it for high-powered rocketry. Generally, the payload and/or nosecone sections will be attached to the booster section and the parachute with Kevlar cord. Because the deployment of the parachute is done using a small black-powder charge, other cords and elastic can potentially burn through with even a single use. Within a few uses, anything other than Kevlar is generally, well, "toast"... literally. Kevlar can be used over-and-over again with almost no obvious wear. Though I use this particular cord, many rocketeers use Kevlar strap to help avoid "zippering" the rocket. If you are into this hobby, you know what I mean... but I have found that a sufficiently long cord usually avoids this problem.

Tip for use... To avoid fraying at cut ends, the cord that was shipped to me used electrical wire shrink tubing shrunk onto the ends. I had never thought of this and it is a good idea... however, I combine that with a dab of low-viscosity "superglue" the superglue will wick into the cord and hold it together. Before it dries I gingerly press the end together (avoiding sticking my fingers to it) to compress it into a neat, more-or-less round shape I can get the tubing over. Then, I use the shrink tubing over the outside. This gives me a neat, fray proof end.

Main reasons to use:
Low stretch
High Strength
Fire Resistant
Chemical Resistant

This is great stuff. I don't really need kevlar, but I got it for increased abrasion resistance and longevity. I thought I'd give this a try over more paracord, for similar diameter. The 3mm measure out at 3mm within the expectation that it's soft so it's easy to squish flatter.
It has a very nice feel. Easy to knot, and holds knots well.
It frays like mad and it's difficult to cut without very sharp scissors or a razor blade. To fix that. I use glue-lined heat shrink where I'm going to cut, then shrink it up, and roll it tighter until it cools. Then cut it with a razor. Nice clean ends like shoelaces, and the glue lined shrink holds in place.

I got this for my dog. No, seriously, she's a pitbull, and chewed through every rope I used. (No, i don't tie her up, I tied up her toys and she'd chew through the ropes). This, however, she can't chew through. She even went through rock-climbing paracord like it was a twizzler.

This cord is pitbull proof.

Before you buy, think about whether you intend to shoot fish over 100-200#. If you do, buy this. If you don't, get the black Kevlar cord that is 400# rated instead. At 900# test, this is quite thick and does not cut through the water that easily.
