I will admit I have grown suspicious of Amazon reviewers. Way too many 4.5 stars for sophomoric writing. And here I am giving writer Siegel 4.5 stars. The author is able to deliver words as sharper images. I like writing where I feel I am in the scene just off camera. My first Siegel book and now addicted.

The author's interjection of his private thoughts with his conversations added a degree of humor and insights into his strategy as the trial proceeded. Nice character development and use of political ambitions to add intrigue to the story. The surprise ending was truly a surprise. I particularly liked how the ending was detailed so the reader aS not left hanging. I would recommend this book to anyone contemplating a legal profession to better understand it isn't all fun and games.

Wow! This is an excellent read. It takes you through the entire process. It is challenging, interesting and compelling. It keeps you on your mental toes! In my opinion it helps to show that there are lawyers who are good guys while others are in it for money and/or power…but not all of them. This novel brings a more realistic view, one which we all need to see. Looking forGreatward to the next book in the series!

I confess that I downloaded this book to Kindle because it was on sale for 99 cents. But once I got into it, I couldn't stop. As a writer, I had to guess along with the author, and although I got close, I didn't see the ending coming until the last couple of chapters. I love the work of John Grisham, and I think that with Sheldon Siegel I've found another "favorite" author of legal fiction.

I read a lot of good books by good authors but seldom find a novel that had me so caught up in the story. This is a very good book and I bated for it to end. First time I have read his works and only bought the novel because I needs something to read now I look forward to his next book.

A real legal thriller! An ex-partner of a large law firm defends a co-worker-friend from that firm faced with a murder charge. Fast moving with a total surprise ending. A true page-turner! Hard to put down! Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys legal novels!

Keeps you guessing to the very end. Fast paced and riveting. Characters are all well developed, interesting and all too human. If you like the legal system, the legal jargon and action inside the Courtroom and hard work Outside the Courtroom, this book is for you.

I love courtoom dramas and have been disappointed in many of m last choices. Siegel did not disappoint. Much of the novel has to do with case prep and presentation...exactly what I wanted. The surprise twist was also welcome and possible for me to guess, which I like. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

If you are looking for wonderful legal thriller, I highly recommend this book. It is filled with so many twists and turns. The author writes a great book. Now I will download another of his books!!! I gave it 5 stars well deserved stars.
