Sarah Sloane has asked Matthew "Wolf" for someone to help her find her sister, Savannah (Anna) who disappeared in the city during a spring break visit with friends. Because Wolf gas been sent on a last minute deployment, he gives her Gaston "Ranger" Boudreau's name. The two men have a history as Wolf had rescued him during SEAL mission which went sideways quickly. Even though he's dealing with PTSD he'll do anything for Wolf who saved his life. Imagine his surprise when Sarah shows up at Lucky's bar in the infamous French Quarter.
Gaston "Ranger" Boudreau is still dealing with the trauma from an Op that went sideways leaving him with nightmares and the loss of his SEAL teammates. When he receives a cryptic text from Wolf to meet him at Lucky's, he jumps at the chance repay him from rescuing his remaining team members in Afghanistan. Little does he know that Sarah's sister has been prominent in his dreams lately. It will take all of his contacts, Remy, his father Gator, Tex and new computer geek, Stephen too rescue Anna before its too late. When Sarah and Ranger finally act on their feelings, will he realize she's his forever love?
The best news is that the follow up book Saving Savannah is out and I can't wait to read it. The Special Forces series may be short but sweet packing a punch with action and suspense.
Sarah has gone to Wolf for help finding her sister but Wolf is getting ready to go on a mission so he sends her to Ranger. Anna has disappeared during spring break. Ranger has asked Stefan for help and Stefan has brought Tex in and they will run the computer end.
Ranger has an ability to see things in his dreams that have happened or will happen. He has seen the horrors happening to Anna before he even knew who she was. While searching for Anna, he is developing very strong feelings for Sarah but he keeps telling himself that they have to wait until they find Anna first. As the dreams change, he knows he has to tell Sarah. Will she think he is a freak? Will they find Anna in time?
The setting is in and around New Orleans, Louisiana, and the author did a very good job of bringing that part of it to life for me. The hero, “Ranger” Boudreau, suffers from severe PTSD and dream-walks (a bit of a paranormal twist in an otherwise military-themed series). He was my favorite character in the story; other than the prophetic dreams, I think he came across as the most realistic.
The heroine, Sarah, was all right. Other than a strong desire to find her sister, nothing really stood out or was noteworthy about her. We’re told she’s a romance writer, but we get very little details about her.
While the story was well written and followed standard trope guidelines, I really didn’t connect. I realize an author can’t get too in-depth in a novella, but I think the heroine could have used a little more.
Ranger has a special gift of been dreaming of a girl in trouble gets a call from a friend he owes a debt to.
Turns out his friend needs him to help Sarah find her missing sister Anna.
Ranger and Sarah are drawn together as they searches for her thru new Orleans and Rangers dreams are saying time is running out for Anna ,gotta find her fast.
This is a great story and I enjoy reading it!
Hope you enjoy it as well.if you decide two read it please leave a honest review😀.
