Positives: The case provides a great feeling in the hand, its very smooth yet it does not feel like it will be dropped at all. The product seems to be well made which suggest it will hold up well in a fall. I have a similar case by Speck for my original iPad that is a few years old and it has held up very well. I expect this case to do the same. All of the function buttons perform well with the case and it is not to bulky at all. In using the original charger that came with the phone the case does not need to be removed, this is great and helps with the longevity of the case.
Negatives: The largest drawback of this case is storage capacity. I have been able to put 3 cards comfortably in the case. I have not been able to get money in and out of this case easily at all. So for cards only its great! I would like to however carry at least 1 bill in the case, but it does not seem possible.
Conclusion: Great product with good functionality. It will serve the majority of my needs so it seems like a keeper at this point. I will update after a couple months of use.
After about a month of solid use the case is holding up well. I have not noticed any defects in the quality of the case thus far. I am able to store three cards and two bills in the case securely. I hope this is not short-lived and the case continues to function this way. I kinda wish I would have ordered two, to have one in another color as a back-up.
After approximately 2 months the case is starting to fall apart!! The rubberized bezel going around the phone is falling apart and breaking off into pieces. This is a design flaw! This case works perfectly at holding 3 cards a bill or two, but now I have to find something else because it is literally falling apart! If only the design was better, I would happily pay $50 for functionality and design. Whats amazing is I have the same case for my iPad 1 that is several years old and it is in great shape. Very disappointed.
I'm one of those people who constantly drop my phone. For some reason, I'm always carrying too much stuff and my phone just always seems to be the first thing that drops. Since owning this case, I've probably dropped my phone about 2-3 times a week (sometimes face first, other times, on it's back, sometimes it'll bounce a few times before falling flat on its face) and I still have yet to find a scratch on my phone. I've dropped it on pretty much every surface imaginable - Tile, parking lot concrete, carpet, sidewalks, grass, dirt roads, etc. dropped from about 3-5 feet and this phone has been extremely durable.
Bulk/size and inflexibility C-:
If you're one of those people that uses a docking station for music, alarm, etc., use headphones with an "L" shaped connection, use chargers that are quite larger than the ones that come with your phone, this is probably not the best product for you. This case doesn't quite add as much bulk as the Otterbox defender series [...]but it's pretty close. In addition, it's REALLY difficult to get the case off of your phone. You have to make sure you take out anything you stored in the credit card compartment and even then, it's still a struggle. This doesn't bother me since I need the bulk for protection and to keep the credit cards & ID with my phone, plus I rarely take my phone out of the case. I think the few times I have, it was to replace the SIM card when I was traveling abroad.
The ability to keep $27 cash (one $20, one $5, and two $1 bills wrapped around my ID), a credit card, and my driver's license WITH my phone is absolutely AMAZING and useful. I always have enough cash to pay the valet, tip, or cover a cheap meal if they don't accept credit cards and my ID to use with my credit card for anywhere else I would go. I never have to worry about anything but my keys and phone when I walk out the door. This really is the perfect product for me! Plus, as a bonus, I've gotten a lot of compliments and people asking me how much and were I got it - Amazon, I bought the blue and black (not sure if they sell this color anymore), and I think it was on sale in August 2012 for around $15.
Unlike a lot of the other bulkier cases, this one isn't all silicone on the outside so it doesn't collect lint/dust. It also has some rubbery areas on the corners, buttons (on/off & volume), the inside section of the card holder area (this also keeps your credit cards very secure), and on the section on the front/face of the phone so the phone doesn't slip from your grasp when you're handling it normally BUT most of the case is hard plastic so there's no issue with getting it in/out of your pocket, bag, purse, or whatever.
Signal Strength A:
I have noticed a tiny decrease in my phone's signal strength. The difference is so minimal that it hasn't been an issue for me but if you're someone who lives in a home or works in an office where there's only 1 bar of signal, you might lose it with this case. However, since I usually have 4 bars and my internet is pretty great, I only noticed the difference on the rare occasions that I've found myself in a basement, underground garage, or a tunnel - and even then, I usually have enough signal to talk on the phone, although maybe not enough to check-in on Facebook...but who's doing that in these places anyways?
Whether I have one card or 2 and cash, I haven't experienced anything ever falling out of the case. I've tried carrying cash and 3 cards (driver's license, school ID, and credit card) but it's just too tight of a fit. I'm sure it'd work without the cash but I think I'd miss the cash more than the extra card, plus it'd make the case bulkier than it already is. If you're worried about our card/cash falling out, I wouldn't worry - it hasn't been an issue for me.
Overall it's perfect for my everyday use. I love it and couldn't ask for more. I'll probably buy another one, just so I have a different color.
