Reason #1 : they perform great, sound is great, even when they do tangle up they are easier to un-tangle than rubber jacket cords because they don't "stick" to them selves or other cords in your bag, or on the floor.
Reason#2: you can order them in various colors & lengths so you can configure them for specific locations... a.k.a you can then reach into your gear bag and "know" exactly which cord to grab for what connection in your gear train.
Reason#3: not everybody has them, so you know which cords are yours at the end of a gig...
Reason#4: they are just way more cool than boring old black rubber jacketed cords !
the downside: they are so way cool, that you'll have to keep an eye on them, so they don't grow legs !!
They make signal, speaker & microphone cords.... I'm getting all of them !!!! they are a great deal.
I'd highly recommend these instrument cables.
