There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Update: After a year, this CAI has held up. The chrome finished has held up to the engine heat that included out of state trips. Just wipe down with moist microfiber cloth. Keep the filter oiled and it will last forever. No rattle and unit has held in place.
Also good is their customer service - I was recently changing out the filter and accidentally over-tightened and cracked the MAF Adaptor Ring. I called them this morning explaining this and to try to order a new MAF Adaptor Ring and they are sending me a new one, over-night and no charge! The customer service rep was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Update: After a year the filter had fallen off. It was just laying there. I reinstalled it and have had no problems with it falling off again. Engine still sounds great with a nice low hum, and response is still good for 233,000 miles.
It changes the under hood sound, stock was a loud engine rev when you would punch it, to now sounding like a mild flowmaster under the hood. Nice and throaty, quicker throttle response.
As for milage we will have to wait. I was getting 12 city and 15 highway.
I did this with a full truck synthetic oil change, vent visors, and cranking up tire PSI to 40, yo try saving some gas on long highway trips. Ill update again in 6 months and 1 year on performance and maintenance.

Update June 2020:
Similar to others, one day that I popped my hood to check the oil I found that my filter had fallen off, no idea how long it had been bouncing around in the engine bay. Tightened the clamps back up, and a few weeks later the rubber part of the filter split where the clamp was. Also the rubber insulator that holds the filter end of the intake pipe broke.
When I installed it, I didn't want to overtourqe the straps because I didn't trust them. I hit a bump and drove around for 2 days before I noticed the filter fell off. My bad I guess.
When I discovered i didnt torque the straps enough, I tightened them until I was sure they were secure. Or at least I tried to.
From the tightness that allowed the filter to fall off, I gave them JUST A LITTLE MORE and 3. Not one, not two, but THREE of the straps broke. Absolute GARBAGE quality.
The filter is now gorilla glued/taped on.
And besides that, the performance gain in my 05 hevy 4.8 was negligible.
It did sound better... when the filter fell off.
If you have your own worm gear straps to use, buy it. It's a decent product. But the included hardware is hilariously terrible.
