I bought this item a while back thinking I may need to use it one day but it's been collecting dust. I saw a review that this thing did not work with Windows 7 which is why I got it to begin with. I never tested it when I got it I just assumed it would work. I immediately grabbed it and plugged it in my laptop to test it and made sure my wireless adapter was disabled. It works perfectly on my Windows 7 32bit OS. I plugged it in, Windows 7 saw it as a USB to ethernet and installed the driver locally without needing to obtain the driver from the internet. I did not even touch the driver disc and frankly have no idea where it is so I can't check to see if it is in Chinese but chances are it probably is or translated poorly which is how these things usually work. Or the guy just accidentally got a native Chinese driver disc. In device manager it identifies it as a "SR9600 USB To Fast Ethernet Adapter." I surfed the internet and everything worked. I can verify it works no problems in Windows 7 23bit.
On a note. I just unplugged this device while in use and I got a blue screen error code. It is strange it would throw a blue screen at me just for unplugging a USB device but USB to ethernet cables work differently and aren't thumb drives so it is probably using services that can't be interrupted during use. So make sure to safely remove this device before just unplugging it while in use like you should do with all your USB device otherwise you may find yourself looking at a blue screen with errors.
