"Speed" is a skip-counting card game designed to teach children to multiply and how to multiply faster. Two people play against each other to see who can get rid of all their cards first. Kids play this game because it's fun, but adults play to teach children to multiply. Once familiar with the numbers in a game, multiplication becomes simple. The game consists of eight decks of cards which are math fact answers to the multiplication tables. In order to win, kids must memorize the numbers which serves as a fun replacement for the majority of multiplication flash card work. After playing this game frequently, kids begin to recognize numerical patterns which help with learning numerous math concepts such as reducing fractions and factoring.

However, I'm having to return the original purchase because the set was missing the deck of cards for the 2's family. It had duplicate cards for the 3's family instead. That's a bit frustrating. Will return and reorder hoping the next one is correctly packaged.
UPDATE: new set was AGAIN incorrectly packaged with 2 decks of the 3's family cards and no 2's family. FRUSTRATING.
The object of the game is to play each card on top of another card with the "next muliple". For example, when playing with the twos deck, a 6 may be played on a 4 or an 8. When playing with the fives deck, a 15 may be played on a 10 or a 20. The first player to run out of cards wins, so the faster they can recognize multiples the faster they can win!
The only downside I saw to this game was the fact that it is only a 2 player game.
I do agree the font is bad. I don't know what the manufacturer was thinking. But my son (6) got used to it and now does fine with it.

Adult. Nicely made and packaged. Overall a good game for learning math facts.
