The Speedball Deluxe Soft Rubber Brayer is ideal for all types of block printing. Use it with your favorite water-soluble or oil-based block printing inks. It is made from soft, natural Latex gum rubber with a precision ground finish. The flexibility of the 40/42 durometer makes for even ink distribution. The brayer has a heavy duty steel frame that eliminates warping. It will not bend or break. This roller is ultra tough. The plastic handle on the rubber brayer is super comfortable and feels great in your hand. When you are done with your project you can clean the roller off with soap and warm water and wipe down with a paper towel or washcloth. The Speedball Deluxe Soft Rubber Brayer is proudly made in the USA and is a popular choice to use in school and at home.

I just finished wallpapering an 11.5' x 24' foot living-room wall on our home.
Having never wallpapered before, I did some YouTube research and realized I would likely need a roller (usually approx 1.25 inch). So I came here, and seeing the many uses for such a tool, opted for the 2.5 inch brayer.
The truth is, I could not have achieved such a beautiful installation without this tool.
We chose to install a quality German-made thick, '3D' brick/block patterned paper. The semi-soft rubber roller forced all excess glue either out, or into the crevices of the lightly textured wall surface, resulting in exceptional adhesion AND virtually invisible seams.
When I needed more pressure, such as on seams, I just twisted the roller a bit or placed my thumb on the crossbar, so as to apply additional pressure upon only one end.
I can't wait to use it to spread glue for my next woodworking or laminate project.
Two thumbs up on this versatile new addition to my shop!
The main issue I had was the center of the brayer simply doesn't take ink. I'd repeatedly roll the brayer over a perfectly flat sheet of glass with ink, and the you could visibly see only the sides of the brayer picked up any pigment. The center was noticeably bare. You can't get enough pressure to the center of the roller for it to be effective. Only the sides of this brayer make any real contact with the surface you're rolling it on.
This simply isn't a good brayer for inking. For that I'd likely need a hard rubber brayer such as the "Speedball Deluxe 4-Inch Hard Rubber Brayer" but amazon doesn't seem to currently offer a 6 inch version.
A definite 5-Star in every way.
