I bought this so I could do 15 moderate-vigorous laps for 1 hour at least 2 times a week and it does its job. The only downside is the color fading and know that it does run small and it's tight. But it's not uncomfortable once you start swimming in it. Overall, it works if you don't care about the aesthetics.
I usually wear size 10 Levi jeans and medium Ann Taylor t-shirts. But the previous reviewers mentioned that the sizes for this swimsuit were smaller, and I am rather large breasted, so I ordered size 14. I am glad I did so, because it IS made a lot smaller than other swimsuits I have.
The cups are very small, but the fabric will cover the chest area well-enough. But the cups won't help shape the breasts. They just covers them.
The back straps are very tight. They bite into the back. I am constantly fixing them. It takes a lot of pulling and adjusting to get comfortable in it.
If anyone's looking for a very cheap swimsuit, then this is the one for you. But don't expect it to be anything but utilitarian.
After a couple more weeks the lining has begun to fade and the suit has relaxed. Not risque yet, but a saggy seat is not confidence building. For daily pool use polyester is supposed to be the go-to, so I will be checking that out for my next suit.
My problem is that I have short legs and a very long torso with an extra large bust. I'm very difficult to dress. I was hoping that this would have a higher neckline to go with the "conservative" cut legs. It does not!. I might be more modest on the bottom, but I'm showing tons of cleavage and my boobs are squished. I can tell it's supposed to fit in a way that would be modest on most women, but because my torso is so long, I can't get this to rise up far enough. This also means the shoulder straps are tight.
I am 5'5", 138 pounds, 36 DDD bra (not by choice, mind you - I was born this way, sigh.) I'm an odd fit!
That said, I don't expect any other swim suit to offer a better fit, and this does cover me.
I don't like the "conservative" cut as well as I hoped, as it can get a little restrictive on my motion. That said, I like how it helps hide my over sized bottom well! It holds in my fat in a flattering way. I'm not overweight, but I carry most of my weight around my hips.
I'm happy with it, all things considered!
Short answer: awful. From the first push off the side of the pool, I felt like the water was going to push the suit down wardrobe-malfunction style. If I had wanted to buy a completely impractical bathing suit, I would have just bought a bikini. And to have bought this from a brand like Speedo, who builds their reputation on athletic wear, makes it even worse. Definitely planning to return if possible.
Pros: full coverage allows me to swim laps without feeling exposed
Cons: bust area on size 14 runs a little bigger than my 36B...still a comfortable fit
Recommendation: swimming laps and aquatic therapy
