I suck at witchcraft.
Coming from a long line of famous witches, I should be at the top of the heap. Problem is, if there’s a spell cast anywhere near me, I‘ll somehow mess it up. As a probationary agent with the Arcane Bureau of Investigation, I have two choices: I can limp along and maybe pass myself off as a competent agent, or I can die.
Horribly.
Worse news? I seem to have a stalker in the form of a sinfully hot, perpetually grumpy wolf who seems to have a keen interest in keeping me alive.
Whose idea was this again?
If you enjoy fated mates, enemies-to-lovers, and steamy paranormal romance, then check out Spells & Slip-ups, the first book in The Wrong Witch series.

I would easily give this 5 stars for the world building (FYI I have read the author's other books, and this is set in the same world that I am already familiar with so there was not too much detail here but it referenced some of the things/people/world that I know already so I enjoyed that- maybe not as well understood for the newbies to this universe). I would give 4 stars to the mystery that underlies the story, it was twisty enough to keep me interested even while the story was a little too short since I would have liked more suspense build up. And here is my harshness, I would give 3 stars to the romance since it did not develop a real relationship at all, it was just sex- lots of it, with no actual getting to know each other or communication. I am hoping the next book will fix that for me- especially with the big bombshell ending (good luck Wren!) Overall, I can easily give this 4 stars and I would love to continue the series.
I rather enjoyed the side characters and want to see more of them. The author also left just enough intrigue to keep the series going, though the big reveal was already dropped for the two main characters.
That's just what happened here. I love Wren but, I LOVE Nico. The two of them are like oil and water at first. They are so opposite that they kinda just go together. As the story develops and things around them start to change they're more like biscuits and gravy. A little saucy, a little spicy and yet, they mix well.
Nico Acosta is the man. When I say that I mean he's on a secret mission that started years ago. He's there to help yet, there is another agenda under way. Wren is doing everything she can to keep her cool, not let the training for the ABI do her in all while drooling over the sexy as sin shifter who is not only an instructor but the man that makes her heart race.
When danger comes calling Nico will do whatever it takes to keep Wren and her friends (cause it would be a dick move not to protect her friends) and keep them from following in the footsteps of so many before them. Question is... can he do it without losing himself.... that is what you will have to decide on your own.
I freaking LOVED this story. Every word and then some.

This book is great if you like adventure, a little sentimentality, and some romance.
Can't wait to dive into book 2

Characters are great. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
