If you're not familiar with Jenners - this is a great introduction. Her blog is awesome, she's funny as hell, and a great writer. This makes a great addition to your library next to the Bible and that leather-bound edition of Moby Dick you want people to think you've read.

Just get it - $5 is less that like $1 a day for year. I think.

This was such a fun read! I love to read Jen's blog: People I Want to Punch in the Throat and as soon as her book was released, I knew I had to read it. I love Jen's blog for her humor and snarky writing. She often says exactly what I'm thinking, and she's not afraid to speak her mind on anything. That's a trait I really admire!

Jen's book is about the holidays (obviously). I think that the inspiration for her book came from her hilarious blog post about the Elf on the Shelf (read that post here). In fact, if you like Jen's Elf on the Shelf post, you'll love her book. Her book is full of essays about the holidays, some of them satirical, all of them hilarious. She covers topics like cookie exchanges and the annual holiday letters (which are actually opportunities to brag about everything your perfect family has done over the past year). I love Jen's open, honest writing and I love her perspective on things. It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way about many parts of the holidays!

I'm really glad I read this book and really enjoyed it. My one complaint is that it was quite short for the price. I wanted more: more laughs, more rants, more from Jen. I'm definitely going to be reading and buying her next book!

I bought this book based only on it's title and the number of great reviews it got. The title attracted me because, while I love to spend time with my family at Christmas, inevitably there is always one unrelated, uninvited family who shows up to the function. This family consists entirely of PIWTPITT.

While at first I thought this book would be entirely about family members and friends who annoy the crap out of the author during the holidays, I discovered it was much more than that. This read draws from the author's views and experiences from her childhood to the present. Hilarious insights about Christmas cookies, OAM's (Over Achieving Mothers), The Elf on the Shelf, Christmas Santas and so much more.

From what I could tell, the author is about four years younger than me, and so much of what she wrote rang so true with me that I think we may have been separated at birth. Little People's McDonald's Playset? Check. Guess? acid-washed jeans? Check. Black Madonna bracelets? Check, please!!

I would have to say that if you are a female who did at least part of your growing-up in the 80s, you will absolutely love this book. For everybody else, give it a shot. It is really, really funny. One warning: If you take issue with cussing, this book is not for you. But like this author pointed out, she knows she has her peeps, and I think she's good with that.

Count me in, Jen! Hee-freakin'-larious!!

I probably shouldn't have added this to my list to read on my flight from Dulles to Phoenix but I am so glad that I did! I have to get this for my sister now - I can't believe how Jen's mom Christmas addiction is the spitting image of our mother's! I can't recommend this highly enough - especially before 10 days with my two young kids visiting my elderly mother-in-law over the holidays. And I'll never be able to assemble cookies without thinking of being awarded the "Martha Just Died A Little Inside" winner!

This author has stolen my life. I love my family, but I can't tell anyone about the freak show I grew up in, they don't believe me. And those people that raised me, made me feel like i was being pranked constantly as a teen. And now I act just like them.

I about peed myself a dozen times reading. I totally have my own list of people I'd like to punch in the throat, sometimes I even tell them that I like to punch them in the throat.

I, like many, found this book after reading the hilarious, elf on the shelf post that has gone viral on FB. I bought the e-book for a measly buck and spent the next hour or so reading in bed and trying (unsuccessfully) not to wake the wife. The book is hilarious, as are the accompanying photos. Jen/not Jennifer tells it like it is, and made me chortle aloud repeatedly. It's a bargain at a dollar and it could make you spew soda out of your nose if you are not careful.

I have been getting PIWTPITT's blogs for about 6 months now, and I swear on my brown eyes that Jenn is a friend of mine, or my long lost twin because she says/talks/thinks EXACTLY like I do!!! I am used-to-be/sort-of-now OAM when it comes to Christmas, so this book is right up my alley, and I could totally understand everything she was talking about. You know how some "perspective" books never seem to be about anything you have any clue about? this book isn't like that at all.

She covers everything from dinner with the in-laws to light displays (I laughed til I cried) to Santa pictures to that "have-to-have" toy Christmas to those load of crap Christmas family newsletters to the dreaded cookie swaps (BTW, have NEVER been to one myself, but I feel ya Jenn on the overwhelming-ness of buying decorative trays/displays for your cookies much less for toting home your cookies- do these women hate Ziploc bags???!!!!).

This book is a great deal and if you like to laugh at the everyday stuff, you will LOVE this book!!!!
