Most people that have a great deal of experience using turmeric will probably fit into one of these two categories:
1. Turmeric is turmeric. The cheapest deal is the best deal.
2. Turmeric must be of highest quality and price comes second.
I often say that if you ask ten chefs to prepare soup using the same basic ingredients you'll end up with ten different soups. Part of it is the way chefs prepare it, but part of it is also how they select those ingredients. A bad chef will only make bad soup even if he were to use highest quality ingredients and the average chef can make a fairly good soup with average ingredients. But the best chef will make the best soup and he will most likely use the best ingredients. When it comes to turmeric, The Spice Hunter India Turmeric is that best ingredient. I believe it has the brightest and purest color of any turmeric on the market in North America today and imparts the deepest color and the best aroma to any dish prepared with it. The pack of six two-ounce jars sold by Amazon is also cheaper than the retail for the same product in most supermarkets (that is, if you can find it there at all). At $1.64 / oz it's worth every penny and then some. Buy the six pack and even if you don't use this much of it in your cooking - share it with friends and family. They will thank you for it later.
