Try this salt and then try salt from Hawaii, Portugal, France, prussian blue from Germany, salt from Japan, Mexico, etc ... You will be surprised at the diversity in taste.
I used to use just kosher salt all the time, but this Himalayan salt is much more tasty and not so terribly salty like kosher or regular table salt. I use it in everything I cook that needs some added salt. My boyfriend loves it so much that when we run out he asks, "You're going to order some more right?!" ;)
We both prefer the taste of Himalayan salt over any other. The second time around that I ordered this Spice Labs sent me a little wooden salt spoon with some paper cards advertising their other products (apparently they sell Himalayan salt shot glasses, that's pretty cool!), I was delighted to get a small free gift with my purchase. :)
Also shipping is always so fast, so you don't have to wait long for your salt fix. xD
Be advised that the pieces are rather large and the salt itself is "dense" rather than "crumbly" so you will need to have a good quality mill. Our Oxo mill handles it fine, but I did try a lever-operated mill--no luck.
Finally, the 2.2 pound bag (a kilo) costs the same as the two pound bag. Why would anyone not buy the kilo package?
I also use this to make bath salts with epsom salts and essential oils.
The taste of himalayan salt in food is also great. More tasty than table or sea salt.
Very good quality. I am happy with my purchase and will definitely replenish when I run out.
