I used this product to mix with ground pork and other spices to make my own sausage. I love that this fennel has a deep smooth undertone which makes the finished product so very tasty. It's also great to add to marinades and seasoning salt. Definitely a product made for a serious cook who appreciates crisp bright flavor which is so sadly missing in most American dishes.

When buying spices like this to refill a favorite container, you know you have to worry about how to store the excess till later. This package in resealable with its own ziplock seal. What a win win situation. The price was great, the spice was fresh and the package keeps both air and light out. Light is as important as air to keep out to maintain freshness, and their package does both. Great value.

The taste and smell is off. Don’t Recommend!!!

I don’t recommend this fennel ground due to the smell and taste test fail after opening the package. I tried to test it on a tuna fish stew I was preparing and it killed the taste of the stew which is very savoury normally. This fennel ground made the taste slightly off and the rich aroma normally present absent. As mentioned in front of the package “MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF: TREE NUTS, WHEAT, PEANUT, SOYBEANS.” may have tainted the distinct smell and taste of the fennel ground when it was being grounded in the factory machines. I am going back to FRONTIER CO-OP ORGANIC FENNEL GROUND which has an excellent smell and taste soon as you open the lid of the container.

Number of servings isn't correct

The package states there are 448 servings - just looking at the size of it I knew that couldn't be right, so I measured it myself. I used 1/2 tbsp like the package states, and, sure enough, I came up with about 275 servings, not the 448 they claim. I actually thought it would be even less than that, but nevertheless the company is misstating the facts.
