The price is right, which is why I bought these raisins, and why I am giving 4 stars instead of 3.

The first thing I noticed on popping a few of these in my mouth was that they are not plump and juicy like the golden raisins I expected. Quite dry, with a little bit of borderline crunch. Not what I expect from raisins.

The flavor is good, but to go along with them being extra dry, they just don’t have the flavor burst one would expect.

Oatmeal, cooking, and baking would be excellent uses for these raisins, but I can’t recommend eating them right out of the bag. Hopefully I just got a bad run and they’re typically as described.

I have been buying Spice World's Golden Raisins for many years and have never been disappointed in the quality. Several reviews here mention that they're not "juicy" which makes no sense to me because raisins are supposed to be dry, and while these are properly dried,they aren't hard and are still chewable and great for your trail mix blends. "Juicy" raisins invite spoilage and mold.
They're awesome in my Indian curries, baked goods etc because they always plump up wonderfully!
This bag is large with LOADS of raisins so I store them in my fridge crisper drawer and have found them to be perfect even after a year of storage! And no, I received nothing for this review and wasn't asked to write one.

I'm not very impressed with these golden raisins at all. Since you can't return food, I thought I would leave as much detail on the product as I could with a photo that I hope will help some people.

On the left, I have a cheap brand I buy at the store and on the right, I have this product from Spicy World. As you can see, the cheap, store bought ones on the left are plump and juicy looking with a variety of deep colors. The ingredients are just California raisins and sulfur dioxide to retain their color. They taste amazing and so sweet.
On the right side of the plate, we have these "premium" golden raisins that look, feel and taste dried out in a bad way. They don't taste anything like sweet golden raisins I'm used to. There's some sweetness there, but the overwhelming flavor I taste is...not normal. Chemicals? Other spices? I can't put my finger on it, but it's not pleasant. Also, they don't list the ingredients on the packaging, so if you are trying to stay away from something like sulfur dioxide, you can't look at the product and determine if it's for you easily.
