Every time I listen to this soundtrack, I'm taken back to that magical summer of 2004. Such fond memories. Great movie, great soundtrack.

Spiderman 2 with Tobey Maguire easily the best soundtrack, game and movie. Not the best on their own but each is very good in comparison to other movie games, soundtracks, or movies.

Usually soundtracks just have one or two songs that are good. But just about every song on this CD is great!

Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional is the song that really makes this album great. It has very poetic and metaphorical lyrics, and the lead singer's voice is strong but beautiful at the same time.

Ordinary by Train was a surprise. I didn't expect Train to be on the album at all. Ordinary is a little harder and stronger than what they usually sing. It suits the album extremely well, though.

Did you by Hoobastank is one of my favorite songs on the entire CD. It's very explosive. I've always found Hoobastank's style slightly unique.

Hold on by Jet is by far the best song on the album. I think it's also the only song used in the movie (besides the Elfman suites). It is very soothing and sweet, but at the same time you get the feeling that Jet is about to rock out at any moment (even though that never quite happens in the song).

The next song is Gifts and Curses by Yellowcard. This band has become very popular over the past half year. This song's lyrics are perfect for the soundtrack. About half way through, there is a violin solo that lasts for over a minute which is a little boring, but hey it's music.

Song 6 is Woman by Maroon 5. I'm usually ok with Maroon 5, but I really don't like this song. It's just not exciting enough to be on the soundtrack of such an exciting movie. Not to mention that the title of the song corresponds quite well with what the lead singer's voice sounds like.

#7 is This Photograph is Proof by Taking Back Sunday. It should really be called "This Song is the Worst on this Album." The voice(s) are absolutely terrible, and the lyrics don't suit Spiderman too well.

Track 8 is Give it up by Midtown. It's a nice break from the crap that was dished out by the previous two songs. It's a solid rock song that is at least more suited for the CD than the Taking Back Sunday song.

Next is the second best song on the album, Lucky You by lostprophets. It's a little harder than the Jet song, but it's almost as pretty. If Peter Parker had a CD collection, I think lostprophets would be in there.

Track 10 is Who I am by Smile Empty Soul. It's not one of the better songs on the album, but it's not too bad. It has a deep and dark beat, so it's a little different than the other songs on the album.

The next song is The Night That the Lights Went out in NYC by The Ataris. This is one of the most beautiful songs on the soundtrack. If you don't like it the first time, just listen to it again and you'll probably like it a lot more than you did before.

Track 12 is We Are by Ana. I guess they had to put at least one female song on the album. It's actually not that bad. Once again, after you listen to it a few times it might grow on you a little.

Next is Someone to Die For by Jimmy Gnecco featuring Brian May (whoever they are). For being nobodies they sure can sing pretty well. This is a very pretty song that is a nice break from all of the rock that preceded it.

The next two songs are Danny Elfman suites from the movie. Elfman, one of the best TV/Movie composers ever (he did the theme song for The Simpsons too) once again produced some great music. The Spidey Suite is especially good.

So that's the Spiderman 2 soundtrack! If you haven't bought it already, I would really suggest doing so if you are a big fan of rock music. Give it a chance; it's a great CD!

Alright, it takes serious pride-swallowing to admit it, but there are parts of this CD that i just can't get enough of. Topping my list of great parts of the album is Yellowcard's "Gifts and Curses," which, when you're in the right mood and situation, is so perfect and heartbreaking at the same time. I must have listened to it a hundred times last summer. (well, not quite...)

Anyway, Jet is a really good band even if their first single is waaaay overplayed (i love it anyway, i just like to be a music elitist). But 'Hold On' is just a great, great song. Another good one is 'Vindicated,' which is quite a statement for me because i am not into emo too much. (this album was a gift, btw. i wouldn't have picked it off a shelf.)

The low points are: the Hoobastank song, the TBS song (too much angsty screaming for me)and the 'Someone to Die For' song, even though the vocals are pretty. every line is a cliche though.

Oh, i almost forgot, i'm absolutely in love with Danny Elfman, and the last two tracks of this album are awesome. Still say his best is Edward Scissorhands though. And the Maroon 5 song is pretty good, but it's really a departure from the rest, so brace yourself.

Overall, i'm not usually a fan of this music, but it's a pretty good record with a couple standout parts.
