purchase Block's books on writing fiction. I have been a freelance writer for years but not non-fiction. When I got involved in writing a fiction book Block's books were recommended to me by a friend, also a writer. I will never regret purchasing these books. I got his whole series on writing fiction and they have been a GREAT help to me. I highly
recommend his books to any writer or anyone who wants to be a writer of fiction.
I re-purchased these when they were republished for the Kindle, and am really enjoying re-re-reading them.
He does have a conversational tone in his 'how to write' books, so you have to plow through a lot of verbage to get to the good points. I think that was basically to flesh out the book to bring it up to 250 pages.
If you can read fast and get through the extra verbage, this book does have some very good points to keep in mind when writing a book of Fiction, which if you use, would make your own story more interesting.
