After receiving the glasses and using them for a couple of weeks with several different IPA types, I can say yes, they do deliver, and no, they're not low quality. The glass is thin, but fairly strong as far as I can tell. They're thin for a reason. The beer stays much cooler for much longer in a glass with a thin bowl. It's very noticeable.
Regarding the flavor experience, the difference is striking when comparing the same IPA in this and different glass types. There's much more noticeable aroma from the hops and other elements such as citrus, especially when you get about halfway into the pour. I think bars serving craft beer would do well to pick some of these up to enhance their IPA loving customers' experience. For me, it's become much more enjoyable to enjoy a good IPA at home out of my new glasses than to sit in a beer or tap room, sipping IPA out of a pint glass.
The glasses are easy to wash by hand, but are apparently dishwasher safe. I just put a little soap and water in them and swirl it before allowing to air dry. I wouldn't recommend trying to shove your hand in them because I'm guessing they will break. I'm guessing there will be imitators using thicker glass, but that would defeat the purpose, right? Thin is good.
Moral of the story? If you love IPA, pull the trigger. Twenty bucks for two is a solid buy.
I was a bit hesitant to buy at first due to the price and the "thin" glass. But I had read enough to know these were what I wanted and decided to pickup a pair when they were on sale. I'm glad I did.
First, the thin glass isn't a bad thing. It has purpose. It helps keep the beer cool longer. Runs contrary to intuition, but the science backs it up. But due to the high quality of the glass, it is surprisingly strong. I've tipped one over onto our tile counter top and it just bounced. I was sure it was going to break. But it didn't. So not as weak as it would appear.
Second, the purpose built glass does what it says it will do - improve the overall quality of the IPA beer experience. How? By pumping out the aroma on a constant basis. It does this by using a few "tricks" to keep the CO2 releasing from suspension and in the process, releasing aroma and flavor into the head. This happens throughout the entire glass of beer, start to finish - unless you let it so long that it goes flat.
Third, the narrow opening causes the aroma to be concentrated and when you drink, you get a fuller whiff of the aromas.
We have used these for over 6 months and have not lost one yet. We use the top rack of our dishwasher and don't have any issues. These are fine in the dishwasher - contrary to their recommendation.
Overall, very happy with these. Highly recommend.
UPDATE: I ordered a set of 6. Two had the nucleation point and four did not! I see from other sites that both versions are produced and equally priced. I wrote to Amazon and they nicely offered to take them back. Since they all seem to be sold by third parties and serviced by Amazon (prime) I wasn't sure I could do better so I kept them. I got 6 at a very low price (same as 4 from other sellers.) I'm quite satisfied but it seems unclear if one will get glasses with or without the nucleation point and in what mix. Now I can experiment on if it makes a difference. But be aware. Still 5 stars. Fun!

Wonderful glasses, really get all the aromas out of the beer when poured into one of these stellar glasses. Just beware of knocking them around too much. Very thin glass.Published 2 months ago by Ryan McKernan
