Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max Case (2019) - Matte Black

This is my go to phone case. I’ve had it for multiple generations of iPhones. It’s slim, but protects my phone through every drop! You do not need anything bulkier than this to protect your iPhone. I have not cracked a phone screen since using this protector! Even glass screen protectors are protected. Lol. I have broke a couple screen protectors, but it has been totally my fault. The actual screen though is always fine. The material they use is velvety smooth, which is a little slippery, but I have no problems with it. I like the material and feel. In fact I don’t know how they do it, but material/finish on this case seems to self heal itself! What seems like scuffs an scratches wipe off like magic. It truly is rugged armor for iPhones. Cutouts are perfect! Wireless charge works fine! Even with a back glass protector installed!

Sleek AND protective

I don’t know about you all but I have been a Spigen consumer since the iPhone 5. I can honestly say that this is the best iPhone case I have owned by Spigen or by any other manufacturer. It is super sleek and very protective at the same time. Didn’t think it was possible to say sleek and protective in one sentence but I did. I am beyond impressed with this case. So much that I ordered another one in case they run out.

I've always liked Spigen cases. Whether it's there reliability, simplicity, or good customer service, Spigen never fails at delivering a quality product. The 'Rugged Armor' in particular is a product that I've been quite fond of for years now. I've had one on my iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and now my new phone, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, since the day I bought the phone.

(* = Informative/Personal opinion but isn't subject to affect the quality of the product)

Pros:
+ Thin and light without compromising protection. Trust me, I've dropped all 3 at least more than once and each phone survived without a single scratch. Just a little battle scar remained on the case where it impacted.
+ Matte Finish, making it almost fingerprint proof with added carbon fiber trims for those extra style points.
+ Textured sides for added grip.
+ Firm but clicky buttons.
+ Screen protector friendly.
* Circular cutout to showcase Apple logo (Even though everyone knows what phone it is)

Cons:
- The matte surface on the back can be scratched and damaged (as seen on the iPhone 7) if treated very roughly, but typically this is just normal wear and tear.
- When using alcohol wipes to clean the matte surface, little bits of the material began rubbing off.
* This is really petty but the top carbon fiber strip that existed on the older models of the 'Rugged Armor' (see the iPhone 7 and Note 9) doesn't exist on the iPhone 11 Pro Max's model, instead being superseded by a ridged pattern though this con is HIGHLY subjective and doesn't affect my overall option. (Spigen if your reading this, pls come out with a version that has both carbon fiber strips, pls... lol)

Overall though, I would highly recommend this case to y'all who want protection but also need slimness, simplicity, and hits of style.

It’s a thin case, looks good, tight fit, and protects well for its size. It’s not bulky and it doesn’t stick out too much to affect the size/style of the phone in its natural state. Very happy with purchase

Perfect lightweight case

I used the iPhone X version of this case for 2 years and loved it, so this was the only case I seriously looked at for the 11 pro max. It does add some protection, but not too much bulk. This is great as the phone is already large enough.

It’s not a heavy duty armored tank case. I’m not sure how other reviewers were surprised at that either, as the pictures clearly show that it’s thin and flexible. The X version did save my X from several minor drops though, so I’d expect the same here.

My favorite feature is the cutout for the Apple logo (and not for the visual). Just as with the x version, there’s just enough depth that I always rest a finger tip in it for balance. I hardly ever dropped the x, so I wanted that for this phone too.

I did drop a star off for the design at the top. On the X case, both the top and bottom had the same carbon fiber look. This one keeps that look at the bottom, but uses a mismatched (and less appealing imo) design up top. I knew that going in and still bought it. I’d like to see them go back to the top/bottom carbon fiber look though.

Overall the perfect case for me, and has no issue charging the 11 pro max on my wireless charging pad.

A Classic That Keeps Getting Better

This is the third or fourth time I've purchased this Spigen case model. It worked great for my iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone XS Max so when my iPhone 11 Pro Max was ordered I immediately went to Amazon to order the new version of this Spigen case.

It's very durable and with each new phone, the "old" case looks just about as new as the new one. Its classic design and side buttons somehow continue to get better each year. I love the new model's switch to a smooth-ridged pattern near the cameras, larger flatter buttons and slight ridging on the edges which make it a little easier to pick up than previous models.

The only improvement I'd like to see if an internal slot for a magnetic plate. Otherwise this case continues to be my favorite year after year after year.

great minimal case w/ protection

don't listen to the idiots that judge the book by it's cover. I had the same version of this case in my IPHONE XS MAX and dropped it a bunch of times in this style case. Not a scratch on it. I'm talking serious drops from my ear to the floor. If you have a glass screen protector and this case, it will provide protection. I have been buying these cases since iphone 6S plus. Don't believe the hype. this case is bad ass. not too bulky. these cases are good. the phone hasn't even come out yet and idiots are putting 3 stars. hate people sometimes. it's 09/20/2019 7:28am. you don't have your iphone 11 yet dummy. don't review the phone if you haven't tested it yet. LOL. blows my mind.

Excelente producto, todo muy bien pero hay que tomar en cuenta que aumenta un poco el peso del teléfono y esto dificulta que se sujete de los porta celulares que se basan el el uso de imanes 🧲 ... haciendo que si no son lo suficientemente “fuertes” se estén resbalando o cayendo del sujetador.
Fuera de eso a salvado la vida del celular en innumerables ocasiones.

Honestly super solid case

I have own many iphones and have had many cases over the years, and this is a really nice case. I was expecting the backing of this case to be hard plastic, but instead it is a very soft touch plastic. The case fits perfectly and adds minimal bulk while having no reservations putting the phone down on either side. I was not expecting this 15$ case to be anything special, but I am super impressed with the quality. Would recommend this case without hesitation.
