Understand the design errors before buying.....

Few things to accept and understand before purchasing this half baked case.

1. Spigen dropped the ball on measuring the charging hole of the case. Out of all of my premium usb-c cables only the original Samsung usb-c cable will fit into the charging port with the case on. Any other of my premium cables require me to remove the bottom of the case to charge or connect to my car.

2. The top part of the case is taped on and was not designed to be removed. The bottom case on the camera side simply snaps on without using tape. The case is not completely surrounded with double stick tape just parts of the case. Some of the edges make a clicking noise when pressed on since the double stick tape is not holding. Never had a case that was taped on to the phone.

3. Trying to get a refund from Spigen is not an easy process and does not follow the easy typical Amazon return process.

Not for tempered glass

The case is nice. The ones complaining about it being flimsy need to realize this is a SLIM FIT case so of course its not going to be nearly as heavy duty as the more protective Spigen cases. Doesn't add a lot of bulk and gets the job done.

My reason for the 3 star review is that it is not compatible with the Whitestone Domeglass tempered glass screen protector. I was wondering why the front protection wouldn't fit and upon a closer look I found the way it is cut out to clip onto the front is too far out and overlaps on the screen protector. So unfortunately I am only using the rear protection for the time being and do not want to downgrade my screen protector.

If you're using the stock screen protector or something similar like Zagg then you'll be fine. If you're going to go tempered glass then this is not the case for you.

A nice try but falls short of a very demanding application

I have both Galaxy Folds. The first one came with a carbon fiber case that has performed very well for an entire year. You have to buy your own case for the Z Fold 2. I now can see why. The Z Fold 2 is a much harder case challenge because the hinge is so much "stiffer" on the Z Fold 2 compared to the original. What that means is that to open or close the phone you put much higher loads on the case, particularly on the edges, to generate the higher forces necessary to work the stronger hinge. The problem becomes most apparent on the "front" screen when folded. The much larger and nicer front screen on the Z Fold 2 has made the parts of the case that protect this screen much longer and thinner, as you can see in the picture above of the two Folds together, and these longer and thinner front pieces just do not have the strength and stiffness to resist the loads your fingers put on them to open and close the phone. To solve this problem Spigen loads up the inside of the case with thin adhesive strips that attempt to adhere to the phone and use the phone itself to support the case. Unfortunately, the adhesive strips are just not strong enough, and you end up shifting and bending the case front screen rim all the time when you handle the phone. I suspect cases for the new Fold are going to have to be carbon fiber to have any chance of long term performance.

Nice slim fit case with good soft touch texture

Another excellent case from Spigen. I like the material of this thin fit case as it makes the Z fold 2 much less slippery. Has good protection for the outer and inner screens and overall makes it a pleasure to use without adding too much bulk.

There are two issues with this case.
1) The case makes it difficult to use the edge screen on the front screen as it gets in the way when trying to slide in from the edge. This is not an issue for the inside screen as that part of the screen is left open due to where the buttons are so there is no edge on the case there.
2) The phone still wobbles instead of laying flat due to the raised camera hump on the back. Wish there was a way they could make the camera bump flush with the back of the case.

Good:

The color of the case is pretty nice. I got bronze and it matched my mystic bronze phone. The back part fit on nice and snug.

Bad:

The front bumper is not great. The sticker adhesive does not adhere to the front of the phone very well. Periodically, I have to push it into place.

The big problem with this phone is the notch for the USB port. The description does state to use OEM cables. This is not realistic for anyone. If I need a charge from a non-Samsung user's cable, I need to take the back cover off slightly to charge. This was a pretty big overlook in the design department.

Also, they could of included another set of adhesive stickers in case you need to add a screen protector later on or one of the stickers goes bad. I wonder how the warranty will cover this months from now.

Conclusion:

The Galaxy Fold 2 is an expensive phone and the case should complement it in protection and usability. This case introduces limitations that make it hard to recommend to anyone.

Nice case but similar issues as others have brought up

I have some of the same problems others have mentioned. The front side that sort of "sticks" to the phone does not stick well - especially on the left side of the screen. And the charging port opening is too small for almost any cable that I currently have.

The first one is somewhat related to the challenging device design but I'm surprised Spigen released the case as is, considering how annoying it is that the front hardly even sticks to the phone. I don't know if more adhesive (or microsuction, or whatever) is necessary or a rethink of the design, but it's just not pleasant to use and hold when part of the case is moving around and clicking all the time.

The charging port opening being too small is 100% on Spigen. Maybe they only tested with the OEM Samsung cable? I don't know - but literally none of my usual cables fit in that opening. This is just a plain poor design.

Otherwise the case is generally what I expect from Spigen - pretty good quality and a decent price (as long as you buy from Amazon and not their own website). The rear piece is high enough to protect the camera bump and the other cutouts and openings seem to be well placed and a good size. But those two issues above are killers and I would not recommend this case for the Z Fold 2.

Back case fits perfectly, as you'd expect. It has a nice feel to it, giving the phone more grip. However, the front case is a different story. It comes with adhesive strips to stick it down to the front of the phone. I think I counted six of them. However, the strips which sit on the left of the phone (and stick to the metal line running parallel to the hinge) have not stuck down properly. This means there's a loose bit, which when holding the phone open, constantly moves under your hands. If I'm honest, it makes me more worried that I'm going to drop the thing! For £25, I was expecting better. Some stronger adhesive, or even a constant strip, down the side mentioned would really help.

The front section of the case has broken after 1 week. Its only thin and has snapped on the left hand side I've used spigen products for years now and always sworn by them but this one is definitely not worth the money. If they are going to break regular as it looks like a poor design they need to start selling both halves separately has I don't want to buy a new back every time the front snaps

The case looks good and fits well; however, after a couple of weeks of normal use (no drops or heavy transportation, etc.), the front frame cracked. I thought maybe it was one faulty item and re-ordered a new one. The same thing happened to the second case. I see other people leaving similar reviews, so suspect it's an issue with the poor quality of the materials the manufacturer is using. It's a shame, I liked the case.
