How It Works
The “heavy lifting” is accomplished through Spin-Clean Record Washer's unique washer fluid. This special formula encapsulates the dirt that comes off the record from deep within the grooves & sinks it to the bottom of the washer basin, so it is not re-deposited back on to your cherished LPs & 45s.
Specially-Formulated Record Cleaning Fluid
Spin-Clean Record Washer Fluid's special formula encapsulates the dirt that comes off the record from deep within the record grooves and sinks it to the bottom of the washer basin, so it is not re-deposited back on to your valuable LPs and 45s.
Premium Record-Cleaning Brushes
After just three turns in the Spin-Clean record washing system, the dirt and the fingerprints are gone on both sides of the record along with the static. You can not only see the Spin-Clean Record Washer MKII work, but you can also hear the difference in sound.
Durable Rollers Accommodate LPs, 45s, and 78s
Amazingly smooth and balanced Spin-Clean rollers help rotate your vinyl through its ultimate process of bathing, brushing, and cleansing your records. Preset roller positions make it quick and easy to switch between different record sizes.

I do feel the need to address two misconceptions about this item.
The first has to do with the label getting wet. If you fill the washer correctly (up to the fill line), a label will never be spun into the water, so you don’t ever have to worry about that. On the other hand, sometimes as the record is spun, water can drip off the half of the record that’s not in the water, down onto the label. I can’t imagine that this would do much damage to a label, especially if the water is wiped off quickly. However, if there is writing on the label, any ink present could absolutely smudge if it gets wet by water dripping off the top half of the record. I found this out the hard way.
Secondly, you will see that most of the dirt, dust and lint cleaned off of your records will indeed settle to the bottom of the washer. However, after several records washed, enough of this dirt will remain suspended in the solution that I’m not comfortable agreeing with the other reviewers who say that after several washings you’re not getting even a tiny amount of junk back onto your record. Having cleaned 75 or so records, I’ve replaced the water in the tank three times already because the water just looked like it was too dirty to continue using. Now, I am 100% convinced that any record I’ve cleaned ends up in much better condition after the cleaning, regardless of what’s getting back onto the disc, and I can’t imagine that a small amount of dirt that might get back onto the record would cause much damage. Then again, I’m not a hardcore audiophile, and if you are then perhaps this isn’t the right record cleaner for you - for this reason. Otherwise, trust your eye, dump the water and refill when you see that it’s time, and continue.
Oh, and you’ll probably need to pick up additional cleaning cloths, especially for marathon cleaning sessions. The two cloths provided with the set work fine but they will become saturated after maybe ten records each, and past that point you’re basically just pushing water around on the disc.
Know that in using this product you will be spending time and investing minor manual labor to clean your records. The system is simple. It's a tank of cleaning fluid with brushes on each side of the tank at the center. The brushes fit pretty snugly which is required to get the vinyl clean. But you don't just spin the album as if it's freestanding on rollers. The brushes are snug enough that you have to manually turn the record with some effort. You can get about 1/4 to 1/3 of a turn at most each time. If you try to spin more than that you will likely be lifting the record out of the tank just because of the nature of the design.
The manufacturer recommends 3 full rotations in each direction. Even if you're really fast this is going to take you a couple of minutes per record. Frankly, 3 is probably the right number. If you cheat and do only 1-2 you will likely miss some deeply embedded dirt. After 3 turns you're likely not going to get anything else. Either you got everything or whatever else is on the viny isn't going to come off without a Brillo pad!
After the 3 manual turns each way you need to lift the record back out. Bear in mind that it's snug enough that you could tip the tank or lift it when you pull the record out. I think it's designed well enough that it won't tip over but I usually end up pulling the record out with one hand and holding the tank down with the other.
You then need to dry the record. I've found it beneficial to hold the record above the tank for 3-5 seconds to let more of the fluid run back off and drop into the tank. Don't worry, the fluid follows the grooves around so it does not run across the label. Sometimes I gently tap the edge of the LP on the tank to get a bit more fluid off.
I then place the LP down on a CLEAN and SOFT towel. I dry the upside with a microfiber cloth. I flip it and dry the other side. I then let the air dry any remaining moisture before placing the LP into a NEW archival sleeve. (No point in returning it to a dirty paper sleeve.
My bet is that this system is 95-99% as effective as the $5000 automated machines. The difference is a lot more labor intensive time. Frankly, that's OK with me.
Be careful with your cleaning fluid and water. If it gets low or dirty, change it. Don't worry about following guidelines. The fluid is cheap. Keep your tank and cleaning solution clean and clear.

spinning the albums by hand is both slow and takes a fair bit of energy.
I tried playing the albums after that but they kept skipping sometimes losing a half minute of music a song.
I stopped using after having problems playing the albums.
I would have been further off to save about 80 or 90 dollars and just by a good brush with cleaning solution.
Do not waste your time and money on this
Note that its a manual process, so if you have thousands of records to clean its not the best solution. If that's your case, it may be worth investing in a somewhat more automated ultrasonic cleaner instead.
I started with the new RCA brush cleaning system but found that was not enough. I then went on to a high quality anti static hand held brush but still found no major improvement and that is how I ended up with the Spin Clean.
I would have given this great product five stars however, for the price I know they could have added some extra cleaning fluid and cloths which has become very obvious one will need if they plan on using it for more then just a few sittings.
- Shipped prompt by Amazon - Thank You :)
- Very easy to use product with simple to follow instructions.
- Noticeable Improvement in sound quality. Some seemingly dead sounding old records now sound good and some of the better records I have bought have more life in the sound.
- Although it may sound funny, to music lovers it can be a really pleasurable experience to use this product if you set aside a few hours, turn off the computers and listen to your cleaned records while "slowly" enjoying the cleaning process.
Suggestions: Get a dish rack to stand your records in to air dry after the initial clockwise cloth dry before you insert them into new sleeves after you have finished your cleaning as this allows you to easily clean over ten at a time while kicking back and relaxing to your music.
Great Product but get the extra cloths - I love it !!!!
I have been buying records over the last 30+ years and only now made the investment in this handy little tool.
Just to be clear, it is not a miracle worker but it has salvaged quite a few "noisy" records that were riddled with excessive pops and crackles.
I feel the retail price is a bit high for what it actually is, but I don't regret picking this up.👌
