The answer? Not very!
First impressions upon opening the package: design wise it looks decent (both product and packaging). Then I handled it a bit... metal screws, spring and lip/edge for opening the bottles, but beyond that... fairly flimsy plastic all around. I'm already worried this thing probably wont last (god forbid it should make the rounds at a party, doesn't feel like it would last the night).
First impressions upon actually using it: it's the middle of the day, so I'm not about to crack open a beer, but I've got caps collected in a jar so let's shoot this thing! I tried various orientations and angles. Not surprisingly the caps fly rather unstably and not all that far (actually seems to work best when held upside down).
Sounding not that great so far? Well after maybe 20 bottle cap launches, without dropping it mind you, it broke. How? Well, it holds the recently removed bottle cap in place by way of two little magnets, and they decided I'd had enough fun and promptly fell out of their little homes (simultaneously no doubt) and attached themselves to the bottle cap as it fell to the floor (thankfully I might add, as they are super tiny and would surely have been lost otherwise). Whatever tiny dab of glue was holding them in place was the obvious culprit.
Final thoughts? If you're going to order one, you might as well add a bottle of super glue to your shopping cart at this point (if not for the magnets, surely something else will break on this eventually)!
