Why were my emotions so unstable weeks after surgery, when I had taken the diagnosis and hospitalization in my stride? "Now that things have slowed down, you finally have the opportunity to get at these feelings, and they seem to be hitting you all at once." says Ronnie Kaye in Chapter 12. "No wonder you're crying." That made sense.
With a master's degree in counselling psychology, Ronnie uses her own experiences in the valley of cancer to come alongside other women as they struggle with such topics as Body Image, Sexuality, Reconstruction, Emotional Reruns and many more. I heartily encourage people who are contending with such issues to read this book. Chances are you will find you are completely normal. And given what you're going through, that feels so good.
Some of the topics the author helped me work through are dealt with from a spiritual angle in my own book, Strength Renewed, Meditations for Your Journey through Breast Cancer. So thank you Ronnie Kaye! I pray you are still healthy today.
