The characters are easy to become attached to and become invested in. Their dialogue is engaging, the descriptions to details are done nicely. Good storyline.
Written as a multi pov. This does not have a hea and really to me a hfn end and does end in a cliff hanger.
All in all, a great read so far.

A woman who believes she is cursed when it comes to relationships . A doctor who believes in facts that needs to learn to trust his instincts. Can they overcome self imposed complications to find true love that will break the curse?
You'll have to read the book to find out, Cannot wait for the series to come out
She has a few abilities more than nursing covers. Apparently the town is haunted by something and all the founding families are effected by it. She sees dead people. But she cannot tell anyone! Why? Not a new idea, since seeing dead people as been going on for quite some time. And who says she can't tell? I don't have a problem with that. I believe in spirits, angels, guides, whatever you want to call them. So, I thought it would be interesting to see where this went. But then she is cursed! Now I am having a problem. She hasn't figured out just what the whole deal is but her fiancé leaves her at the altar and as a result he becomes blind. Seems like he was cursed! As a medical person, she took full responsibility for causing his blindness. Really? You can cause a person to go blind? This is where the book starts to lose me. Going on a couples retreat to help them establish trust in one another the motivational speaker regarding trust is no less than the ex-fiancé, white cane and all. I'm not sure he has any idea that leaving her has caused his blindness.
So, this story is really starting to lose me when I decided to go back and read the reviews and see if I was missing something. Well, yes, I missed something. This book ends in a cliffhanger so we will buy the next installment. I really HATE it when authors do this. So, I am glad I decided to stop reading when I did. I just wasn't feeling it for these two and personally, I didn't feel it between these two either. I loved the cover!! But, this one is not for me. Since all the other reviews liked it I would suggest you give it a try if you like curses, mystery, ghosts and etc. It is different.
I found Spirit Awakened to be a tender read featuring an alluring couple and just the right amount of the supernatural. I don’t generally care for cliffhanger endings but this one was great and I’m very excited to start book two in the Whisper Cove series. Jake and Faith are both intriguing characters and I look forward to learning more about them and the Lover’s Curse!
