In this installment, the author adds depth to the characters we already know from Books 1 and 2, and some new and interesting characters become involved in the story. One thing I particularly enjoy about Andrew's writing is how it captures the way in which human minds truly function - meaning, how the mind goes from dealing with current, personal, big issues at one moment; jumps to everyday happenings; and then jumps back to the big things again. Also, the author does an excellent job bringing depth to his characters. The reader gets to know the characters' personalities and quirks and, thus, becomes more engaged with them. Additionally, Andrew guides the reader in experiencing a whole realm of emotions via the characters' experiences - the highs of love, friendship, and being successful as well as the lows of experiencing loss, feeling betrayed, not having direction, and failing. The book taps into what human beings experience emotionally in real life, and that gives its characters a relatable feel.
This installment in the series dives with greater detail into the magical realm, which I enjoyed. The reader gets to see the subtleties of different types of magic and magical beings. This magical mixture is needed for the cast of characters to face their most daunting challenge thus far. Also, Nick and Juliet also learn about and develop their abilities in new and interesting ways.
If you enjoyed the first two books in the series, you'll definitely want to read this one! There's more closure in this one than in the previous two, so many readers may enjoy not having a cliffhanger at the end.
NOTE: I received an advanced copy of this book for a fair and honest review. (Thank you for including me in your group of beta readers!)

The main 2 characters are Nick and Juliet who after a life changing experience at the beginning of book 1 (A Death Displaced) discover they now have certain abilities. Nick has visions of future events and Juliet can see and communicate with spirits. As if having to deal with their new abilities wasn't enough they have to overcome a whole host of problems from both the paranormal world and the real world.
This book brings about closure and ties up loose ends from the first 2 books in the series. However I was pleased to see that Nick and Juliet's adventures in both the paranormal and real world will continue in further books in the Lansin Island series.
