Format: Paperback
One of the incredible things about the Spirit of Drawing is that as you read it, you are drawn into the meditative, loving state the author is describing. Connie Smith Siegel's aesthetic, intellectual and spiritual breadth coalesce, both in image and word. Excellent selections of artwork from student to old master, not only illustrate, but illuminate, her guided excursions into touch, weight, space, movement and the magic of seeing.

As an artist who regularly meditates, draws and practices yoga, I felt she put into words so many states of being that are essentially non-verbal. This is an extraordinary weaving together of Siegel's life experience as artist, teacher, workshop leader, sensory awareness practitioner and healer--a great gift to any of us who appreciate or make art.

Her deep insight and unifying understanding, beautifully coupled with a simple and practical approach to drawing opens a creative path for novice or professional and as she says this book is truly written for everyone. She beckons us to see, to sense, to explore, to open up our horizons and live our drawings. What an amazing achievement and contribution this book is!
