Spirit ZE120 Elliptical Trainer features an easy to use electronic console with a backlit blue display that includes a cooling fan and water bottle holder. The combination of large balanced flywheel and high gear ratio provide a smooth natural motion and whisper quiet operation. The unit includes arms to exercise the upper body as well. Pulse sensors for monitoring your heart rate are strategically placed on the stationary handle bars for ultimate user comfort. To further enhance user comfort, the unit also features oversize foot pedals. These unique foot pedals were designed in collaboration with a leading physical therapist and sports enthusiasts. A 2 degree inward slope is designed into the pedals; this reduces ankle and knee stress and dramatically increases user comfort. Five data display windows provide immediate feedback and motivation and 12 program options add challenge and variety. 16 levels of resistance add challenge to every workout.
Packing a ton of features into a single frame, the Spirit Fitness ZE120 elliptical trainer will get you in shape and then some. The machine is designed to work out both the upper and lower body while minimizing the impact on your knees, ankles, and hips-- an improvement over many home machines, such as treadmills. The elliptical works by guiding your legs in a forward/backward motion while your arms pump the poles back and forth for an upper body workout. Part stair climber and part treadmill, the trainer is perfect for workout warriors who need a break from the pounding of traditional aerobic activities, whether for personal choice or health reasons. And users will love the pedals' two-degree inward tilt, which keeps the user in a neutral position to provide optimal comfort regardless of your pace.
The elliptical doesn't stop there, however. It also offers a four-rail track system that minimizes the "side load"; aircraft-grade aluminum roller guides that ensure smoothness and durability; high-grade rollers on the pedal arms for smooth, long-lasting performance; industrial-grade bearings in all the pivot points; a hand-grip heart rate monitor with an optional telemetric belt; and a large LCD console that displays the time, distance, calories, and heart rate. Other details include 13 standard workout programs, 16 resistance levels, a 20-inch stride length, and an integrated water bottle holder that comes with its own water bottle.
The Spirit Fitness ZE120 elliptical trainer measures 62 by 65 by 23 inches (W x H x D) and features a weight capacity of 300 pounds. It also carries a series of warranties for different parts, including a lifetime warranty on the frame, a five-year warranty on parts and electronics, a three-year warranty on the brake, and a one-year warranty on labor.
About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.
Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.
Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

This is the one. The machine is terrific-runs smoothly, doesnt hurt my knees (the footpads move) the programs are challenging.
My only complaints: a rubbing and squeaking noise when operating the machine and the water bottle holder does not hold a regular bottle--you have to use the one that comes with the machine.
I have contacted product support at Spirit, and they responded quickly with a recommendation. If they come out and fix the problem I would give the machine five stars, no question!! The warranty is excellent as well.
This is a great unit, extremely well built and has a great 5 year parts warranty, with lifetime frame. Did allot of research. Spirit products are rated very highly. What sold me on this one versus the XE line was the shorter 65" base footprint, but with 20" stride capability. I have limited space so the shorter footprint is appreciated. A great buy, works flawlessly, and wow what a work out. Been a lifetime runner, but this thing really gives me a workout! Also appreciate that it reverses which uses different muscles.
