Visiting doctor Dillon McDowell and resident Doctors Without Borders chief Will Scarlet ("please, no remarks about the name," he says to Dillon when they are introduced) are perfectly pictured on the cover. They are not gorgeous, they are plain men who are working themselves to early exhaustion (if not death with that disease surrounding them), both are gay, but neither is pushing it, even on the other.
I found these dedicated, sometimes hopeless, men to be exceptionally strong in every way--especially in the way they seem to resist each other until suddenly Will, the more recalcitrant one, starts to come out of his shell. Then life takes on a new wave of meaning and emotion for them, and the manner in which they bring their latent attraction to a full blown storm of longing, lust and hope is just what Andrew Grey is all about.
Stick with it, you'll end up smiling ear-to-ear.
Thank you Andrew Grey for this book, it really is one of your best!!
