intertwined within Luke's life. As most readers, I am sure, I could relate to so many struggles he endured; lost love, changes in family dynamics, death, moving and so on. And, I've also dealt with finding my own place in this world; trying to come to terms with my purpose and of course, the question of destiny. I really felt for Luke through much of the book, having known similar trials.
Luke is a seeker. A person of many interests, many directions and
many conflicts; "multi-faceted". I see that as a blessing, rather than a curse. Luke's many interests, from flying to archaeology, to writing and Spirituality bring forth a character that is ever evolving. I was interested in the way Mr. Livesay brought much insightful historical references and information throughout Luke's story. Not just facts, or dates, but what the men of our past represented. Where truth and honor meant something to the people of our country. Our main character, Luke finds spiritual guidance and the two worlds, Religion and Politics are pulling together through him.
Overall, a great read. Mr. Livesay did a wonderful job in this piece and I know he is headed for great things!
Frankly, the text was a bit choppy (authors first literary work?) and repetitive and "dropped" in thoughts and themes such as "A Course in Miracles", and the GWB (Great White Brotherhood.....not racial). I love the attempt to introduce such complex concepts into a novel, however, I AM not sure that a typical reader will ave any idea bout these things.
The book seems to assume that the audience knows about the GWB? That is quite a leap for a typical reader, IMHO.
I AM very interested in Part II, presumably the conclusion of the spiritual solution to America's imbalances. Part 1 implies a followup novel, correct? Very well done David Livesay. Please continue to refine the message. Many blessings, david b.
David, PLEASE keep up the good work, as this is a remarkable effort to introduce much needed information to the public.
