I blew through it.
"Spitting Image" is typical of LeClerc's works, which is to say it's fast paced, has great dialogue, and is just generally awesome.
A brief setup: Sean Danet is an immortal vagabond healer who after centuries of wandering from life to lonely life has happened to have finally settled comfortably into the life of a paramedic. Blending in with society has always been tough for him, but he's finally managed it. Which means that now he has more to lose, and his life and his livelihood and everyone around him is soon put on the chopping block when Danet becomes trapped in confounding masquerade of enemies where no one is who they seem.
A great read!
Easy to follow. Believable characters with distinct personalities.
The dialogue is informative, thought-provoking, humorous and snarky.
I will re-read this book and look forward to more works by this author.
Truth be told I am a fan of his writing style and have read a majority of his work. This latest release of the Vagabond Healer (or perhaps the Healthcare Highlander) does not disappoint. The main character Sean is irreverent and has the feel of Parker's Spenser or Rucka's Atticus Kodiak. His humor and style really makes you love and cheer Sean on.
I finished the novel and was immediately sad for finishing it too quickly and can only hope the next novel is right around the corner.
Pick up Out of Nowhere and Spitting Image together and enjoy this series.
