I tried plugging it into a newer flat screen TV, and could not get it to work. I won't pretend to know a thing about electronics, because I don't. What I know is this. The toy has a white and yellow plug. And my TV has white, red, green, and blue. I tried every combination trying to get it to work. I know there must be something I was doing wrong, because our DVD player has the three color plugs (white, yellow, and red), but I just couldn't figure it out. And unfortunately, my older kids are out tonight so no one could help me. So, in an attempt to at least verify that the toy worked at all, I took it upstairs to try on an older TV - my kids call it a Fat Screen (charming aren't they.) Plugged it in, and it worked perfectly. I'm still not sure what the deal is with the new flat screen, but hopefully someone can help me with that.
Once the installation nonsense was fixed, play time was nice. I think most of the games were just a bit too advanced for my (just turned) 4 year old. He still had a great time. He loved it. But it was clear he wasn't quite understanding the concept. I think with a little bit of practice, he'll be a master.
