I had debated on whether I even wanted to buy this set given how much of a mixed bag Seasons 6 - 9 are. I ended up buying it anyway since there were enough episodes I liked to warrant a purchase.With this and the previous 100 episode set, I now have almost every SpongeBob episode I could ask for! (Not to mention the awful ones like "A Pal for Gary", "Pet Sitter Pat" and "Stuck in the Wringer"...)The 100 episode sets are really good deals if you don't already own the original DVD releases. Just a warning though, the DVD holders in these sets are really bad. When you first open it, you might find some loose discs. One of my discs had a crack on the edge, but thankfully it played fine.The first 100 episode collection was basically perfect. This one, however, has a couple problems.My main issue with this set is that Season 9 episodes and "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!" are presented in 480i, when they originally aired in 1080i. I understand this is a limitation of the DVD format, but it would have been nice if Blu-rays were included for the HD episodes. It isn't abnormal for Blu-rays to include a DVD copy, so it's not like they couldn't have done it.This is especially a problem for "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!" because it's letterboxed in a 4:3 frame. Combined with the 480i downscale, it looks especially bad. I don't understand why they letterboxed it when the Season 9 episodes are presented in proper widescreen.Thankfully, Season 9 looks mostly okay, despite the lower resolution. Smaller details can look pretty blurry though, and there is some noticeable aliasing when the image is blown up.It seems like this will continue to be an issue because Season 10 onward are still only on DVD when it comes to physical media. I guess they'd rather put the HD episodes on streaming services than release a good Blu-ray set....Also, I find it hilarious how Nickelodeon thinks "SpongeBob You're Fired" is a fan favorite episode (according to the back of the box), considering how critically panned it was.
