I have this album on vinyl...somewhere. When I saw it on CD I figured what the heck. I forgot how good this collection is. Zach was the funniest host of the "Shock theater" type shows and he can actually sing. The songs are great OLD songs, what I mean is that they are from the era when they were recorded, simpler and funny. I am glad I got this and I really enjoy hearing it again.

Zacherley is a legend among horror junkies and it shows. This is a great CD for a kids Halloween party. The songs are light and full of (bad?) puns.
If you're into Halloween and ghoulishly good fun, you won't be disappointed!

Having passed my "three score and ten" a bit back, I remember Zacherle when he was on New York Television. I've been a fan of his since then and I've even got a few of his early vinyl recordings. Now, to have his dark humor on CD is totally out-bloody-rageous! Now I can load my CD player with his disks, start up the system, and just sit back and enjoy his Ghoulishness for a nice while. These CD's are not unlike a time maching that wafts me back across the decades to an earlier time. They're still totally enjoyable, and if you do get one, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

I just loved this album as a kid. I was into all the monsters and what my sister called "yucky stuff." I had totally forgotten about it until, this past weekend, I remembered the lyric: "Let's put a monster in the White House just for fun!" (from track 11, Zacherley for President). It took a while before I recalled the performer's name, but once I did, I had to see if his work was online. It's so great that it is. I look forward to sharing it with my grandson. The other lyric I recalled was a fragment "... from his stock of extra (body) parts..." I think from track 3, Transylvania PTA. It makes me think of the new, lovable, Alpha Mitt as Frankenstein, his creators replacing pieces of his policy body with different extra parts taken from others and jolting him alive again. Perfect theme for Hallowe'en. Of course, the songs are campy and silly take-offs of old popular styles, but with his wonderful voice, Zacherley does a masterful job casting the spells of yucky fun. Highly recommended.

If you like Monster Mash, you'll love Zacherly! This is a great trip to 1950s horror host novelty recordings. Wonderful baby boomer memories, and a great addition to any fun Halloween party playlists!.

A few years ago I started the switch from records to CDs. I had some great stuff like every Elvis LP ever released. Others included Chuck, Fats, Gene, Jerry Lee, and Little Richard. In total over 700 of the best 50s and 60s had to offer. I got rid of them all except for Spook Along with Zacherley. I just couldn't part with it. Sure the songs are simple and silly but they are also great fun. If you like the classic horror films from the 30s and 40s you'll like Zack.
