I used this crate as an addition to my emergency pet kit. I have the collapsible crate for travel as well because my dog does best when he sleeps in a crate at night but when the car is moving he does best in his car seat so I don't have space for both at all times.
My dog is about 15lbs and it can be a bit snug once I add his blanket in there but it's good for emergency use and travel. You never know when something might happen and it's definitely more space saving than his usual crate.

This carrier makes Calypso's ride a lot easier! It's much easier to place her in the carrier through the large side opening. She can see better through the large gaps and the translucent material. It is strong enough to carry her (about 12 pounds). She cries less, and pees less. I can open the door while driving to pet her. She loves craning her neck out to look out the car window. We have monthly vet visits for her arthritis injections, so we bought this to make the process easier for all involved. We bought the regular-sized one with the machine washable pad and wrap it in a pee pad just in case..I wish the door could be more easily removed. I would like to keep this out for her to rest in, but the grate-style door is flimsy and she refuses to walk on it. I'm going to try to place something over it.
