The General Sportcraft Company was founded in 1926. In those times, most department stores did not carry sporting goods, so General Sportcraft helped pioneer the concept of "family-fun" departments within the store. Soon, the popularity of these departments spawned stand-alone sporting goods stores.
In the 1940s and 1950s, Sportcraft introduced new outdoor games to America, such as bocce, horseshoes, and volleyball. In time, Sportcraft's focus moved to indoors games like table tennis, billiards, foosball, and darts, now the company's most popular product lines. Today, more than 13 million customers a year purchase Sportcraft products.

The balls are plastic filled with sand with nylon ropes.
The plastic is very light and flimsy and the anchors aren't strong enough to hold it down in soft grass. So, when the rope/ball wraps around the poles it can knock the whole thing down if you don't push down the anchors every so often.
If you play on concrete or rock you can't use the anchor and the whole thing shakes and slides around. You need to secure it with a sandbag or weight so it doesn't fall down.
On the plus side, the balls are well balanced and you can throw them very far and accurately. The whole thing comes in a carrying case that zips up and it's very easy to break down and store the whole thing if you want to take it with you.
However, this is among the most poorly designed items I've bought.
It is basically a three-rung ladder, with each rung scoring differently. The problem is that when one scores on the top rung, the whole assembly tips over. I tried it from close and long ranges (to see if maybe I was throwing the bolas too hard) but at the 25' distance, each time the top rung was scored on, the thing fell over again.
Sportcraft included stakes to help prevent this, but the stakes are about 4" long, curve at the top, and completely useless. I put all 4 included stakes on one assembly, and it still tipped over.
I am very disappointed, and do not recommend this particular ladderball to anyone.
Having played on a better (more expensive, I suppose) ladderball game, I know that they make them that do not tip over.
Very poorly designed and constructed.
The best part about the set is the balls that come with it. They are well made and will last much longer than the pvc.
The set also features scoring right on the ladders which is a nice touch. You can expect these to last about a summer.
The three star is because the first time I set it up one of the corner tubes broke. I needed to wrap some tape around it to use it. I don't plan on using this all that often so I think it will do the job. But if you are going to use this often I would spend the extra money for something that is made better.
