These shoes are fantastic! Really!! I've been waiting to write a review until I've had a chance to thoroughly test them. I live in Colorado and have used these mostly to hike the flatirons in the Boulder area. It's a lot of rocky and steep uphill terrain. However, I also hiked some VERY rugged terrain on the closed off, rain washed route to the top of Cerro Chato volcano in Costa Rica. In all instances, these shoes have completely exceeded my expectations.

Where my friends are slipping and sliding, these shoes ensure a firm grip on most any surface. The second you take these shoes out of the package, you'll see why. Each yellow fixture on the bottom is a lug of well designed hard sticky rubber and the sole of the shoe is a rock hard plate designed to prevent your feet from bruising on any sharp objects you might step on. Extremely lightweight and breathable too.

The only downside is the heel section can be rough on your feet. make sure to wear a evenly thick sock. Meaning, don't wear a sock with extra padding on the heel (in relation to the rest of the sock), or ankle socks. Both can cause uncomfortable rubbing and blisters.

I've been running since 2011, but I haven't run on trails much comparatively speaking. After an extensive search, I chose the Bushido as my first trail shoe and promptly took a trip to South Lake Tahoe, where the 2.5 mile loop at the Spooner Lake Trail near Glenbrook, Nevada was the proving ground.

Having no experience with trail shoes, I can only compare them to what I've run in before. My first impression was that the floor of the shoes was solid. There was decent enough grip across the snow and my feet didn't get wet when I ran through water. Surprisingly, they weren't all that muddy when I was done despite running through it.

The shoes were a bit snug but I think they'll loosen up over time. Therefore, I will not be sizing up when I purchase my next pair.

Overall, I am extremely happy with my selection. They look great and perform flawlessly. I cannot wait to hit more trails when I get home!

I really like these, but fitment is smaller than any shoe I've owned. I have many shoes, and always wear a size 11. I traded up twice with these to finally get a pair that fit. I thought 11.5 would fit, but finally ended up with a size 12. This particular color seems to be much cheaper than other colors in the same model. I wasn't sure I liked them that much based on pics, but they are much nicer in person. I ended up getting a second pair due to the great price. Quality construction, and great overall shoe. Just make sure to order 1 size larger than usual.

i have bad feet (neuropathy) so shoe choice and fit is crucial. i've tried every mass brand sold in my corner of America. the only ones that came close were some Asics and one or two New Balance. both pale in comparison to this stronger, lighter, more stable, and grippier rain, snow, pavement, mud, dirt, gravel, and sand shoe.
if you're looking for the best dog walking shoe? here it is. the best trail runner under $100 - right here thank you very much. even if you just go to the gym in them, you'll appreciate the stability.

the best thing is i can feel like a *normal" person and stand for more than a few minutes with these shoes.

I can't say enough good things about these shoes. They are my favorite pair of shoes in my closet. I have used them for Tough Mudder, hot and dusty trail runs, and numerous hikes. They still look brand new. They are comfortable and lightweight, yet very sturdy and supportive. They are breathable and keep your feet from overheating on hot hikes. They drain well and perform on hikes when they get submerged in streams. And, as you would expect from a rockclimbing company, the traction is EXCELLENT. These things maintain solid grip even when my friends are slipping and sliding all over themselves. The Bushidos are a great investment. I would buy them again and again.

Best traction and lightest weight shoe EVER

I LOVE these shoes. Lightest weight with best traction (both up and down hill). Bought a pair a year ago and backpacked (with 35lbs) the John Muir Trail - 250 miles and over 50,000' of elevation gains and an additional 50,000' of descents - never slipped once! And for me, wearing a pair of DonJoy knee braces (at ~2 lbs per side) I need lightweight shoes and I can't afford to slip or I risk knee injury. So I will wear these shoes until my last day on the trail!

I ordered one size larger than my street shoe size, to accommodate two pairs of socks on long hikes.

There is plenty of room for those socks and in the toe, as well. The soles are really sticky and have excellent traction, even on moss-covered rocks in the tidepools! Plenty of arch support in the insole. The mesh uppers feel as comfortable as a big sock on your foot. These are great shoes, and very nice-looking, too! I love La Sportiva products! My previous pair lasted over 4 years and over 600 hiking miles!

Lightweight And Supportive

Solid shoe, surprised by their comfort. They are slightly narrow even though I ordered the largest size in the US 11 range (44.5M EU), it seems they will be a bit tight until broken in a bit.

The shoes are supportive while retaining a very lightweight design, I almost thought the box was empty on arrival. First impressions running on terrain I can tell they're more stable than the improper shoes I was wearing before. When I took them off initially I could tell they are doing a lot more than I expected, I didn't have the same pain I experienced with other shoes in similar conditions.

I hope they will hold up well, they are definitely far superior to my other shoes for trail running.

I like how they feel. Everything about these shoes is great. Gave a four star bc I had to pay $36.10 to pick these shoes up. I didn't know I had to pay an import fee on these, thus making them like 190 bucks...not really worth it. So that sucks.
