I don't think the weight limit of 250 is very realistic. I weigh 150 and feel pretty low in the water. I think the 180 someone suggested is more realistic.
The board is a lot of fun for a novice. It can easily handle decent sized boat wakes and turns pretty easily.
Given I live where we can only paddle board a few months a year, this is the perfect solution. It is easy to transport in its backpack or on top of the car inflated. Just be aware, 10 feet is really long. Our garage ceiling is too low for it to stand up. When I put it inflated in my Toyota Sienna, it went from the front windshield to the rear windshield with all the seat backs folded down. The backpack is pretty comfortable to carry all the items.
I agree with someone who said it is tough to get parts from the pocket inside the backpack.
Was going to buy an electric pump, but it fills really fast. When done, just open the valve, roll it up and bag it.
I guess I should mention that one of our kids is about 6'3" and I guess 210 lbs or so. He did just fine on it, but if you are buying principally for someone that size or bigger, you probably should look for a bigger board.
